r1b1c according to many studies the costs far outweigh the benefits. You can look it up. Make sure they take into account education costs, not just costs to the federal government, though.

sin, white just isn't relavant, there are immigrants of all colors. But I am familiar with Denver pre-90s and now. There were enough construction workers for the population. True, they cost more, but that is part of the problem. Undercutting wages is bad for us. And the feds SHOULD pay for these costs, in my opinion.

By the way, I am all in favor of good Mexican food. I just don't know why we can't enforce our limits on immigration.

Hey Dar, good to see you again,

The problem is that you and I and all the people here can see the negative effects on illegal immigration. The media is a HUGE way of publicizing ONLY 1 biased way of looking at things which is negativity on the side on illegal immigration.

There is however a far more advantageous for the American people as well as for the gov. however that is not publicized in the media.

There are undocumented immigrants from Mexico that are fighting for the American flag as we speak. No news on that.

There are keeping Jobs here in America rather than moving them to China or India for ex. no news on that.

The majority of the rebuilding in the New Orleans catastrophe were built by these people without them asking for much pay but just a place for them to sustain their families and have a place to eat. No news on that either.

I can go on, and on, including your views on the tax burden. I agree theres a problem that needs to be fixed, however "rounding them up and deport them all," invading Mexico, sending them to island etc. etc. is just completely inhuman and that's why theres so much anger and sympathy towards them people.

Denver went from a two cow town to a city thanks largely to immigrants. In the early nineties, immigrants were encourage to enter through the work of Mayor Webb and Pena. Both represented minorities and believed that they would make a difference. Now, that the immigrants have built the Denver International Airport, the Civic Center, Invesco Field and the Pepsi Arena, the Denver government feels like it is no longer justifiable to have any immigrants. I guess the times have changed. But it is too ******* late. Mexicans have a whole street available to them on Sundays. Our businesses continue to prosper and you will not find better Mexican food than in Denver. The neighborhood where my grandparents live went from a ghetto with houses sold under twenty thousand dollars and many under ten to houses selling above three hundred thousand. Of course, they want their city back. **** em. We bought them out.

DAR - Denver did not have enough workers for a long time. Through most of the nineties the jobs available far outnumbered the workers. Now hiring signs became common place, everywhere.

The problems in Denver surfaced when the .com and telemarketing bubble burst. Then people making $18 an hour for sitting near a phone discovered that they are not worth $18 an hour. Instead of asking themselves why they were not able to pay for rent, they turned to the only people who have no power: illegal immigrants.

Meanwhile, illegal immigrants had taked over the fields abandoned by the .commers and telemarketers. These jobs included retail and restaurant jobs such as waiters and managers.

Should I feel sorry for Americans who were overpaid for half a decade?

With respect to congressional action, Suthers says in the report that the best solution is for the federal government to "enforce existing mmigration laws, pass stronger immigration laws, and to reduce the number of illegal immigrants allowed to enter and stay in the United States."

He goes on to recommend congressional action to "fully fund programs to offset the high costs of illegal immigration imposed on state and local governments."

"The costs are enormous, and it is unacceptable that the federal government remains largely unaccountable on this issue," Suthers said in a press release.

If the government would just do its job correctly and enforce our immigration laws then none of this would be a problem, because there wouldn't be any illegal aliens. Why should the states pay for the governments ineffectual to none existent enforcement ?

263,000 illegals "taxes"in Colorado couldn't even pay the $ 36 million for just the cost of incarceration of the illegals alone.
Much less schools, hospitals ect.The American people would come out on top.

The Federal government then should claim restitution for all the taxes paid by these illegals in Colorado. Not only income taxes and Social Security fees collected were services are not rendered but also the taxes they pay when buying normal merchandise i/e sales tax and others of the sort.

Let's see who comes out on top :-)
