The DVLA have a database with all your information, and they will tell you, THIS IS HOW THE POLICE ANPR SYSTEM WORKS! DVLA will usually charge for information they selll you, and you have to apply. If you need the document to TAX the car, don't bother looking for it, just go online and you can tax the car in 2 mins, they know you are insured, as I have mentioned. On your tax renewal is a code number, and it is all they need.

You are required by law to carry your insurance card with, and to show it to any officer of accident victim upon request, so open your glove box, take out the card, and read the portion of it that says the name of the insurance company.

If you don't have the card (what do you tell the officer who asks if you don't have it?) then go through your canceled checks, looking for the one that says "Automobile insurance" in the memo. Then look at the payee part, you know, where it says "pay to the order of"

That will be your insurance company. If you don't keep your canceled checks, please sell your car, and throw away your license. You're too dumb to be out there driving.

Try asking the police. They now have a database that tells them if a car is insured or not just by the registration number.

You will need them sooner or later to renew your car tax so you could try asking the police to do a check on their computer because it will tell them who you are insured with.

if you paid by check look over your past checks that you wrote out to find out. Otherwise, don;t worry you'll be getting another bill soon.
