Bulima saddly to say does in fact work. A person eats and then gets rid of the food by vomiting, only a small portion of that food along with its calories remains in that persons body.

Dont let your friend do that to herself. Please get your friend help, bulima can cause serious problems later on if life, even resulting in death

bulimia wouldn't help lose weight unless you vomited the food IMMEDIATELY after eating, because the calories are absorbed first... actually it's incredibly unhealthy because the calories are absorbed before the nutrients. Same with laxatives, in case she starts with that stuff. It also, as has been mentioned, causes severe damage to the stomach, esophagus, all the way up to the vocal chords... you can tell by a person's voice sometimes when they're a severe bulimic (sort of like an old smoker voice)

If any weight is lost, it will be water weight and muscle loss due to lack of nutrition. Anorexics suffer the same problem, they lose muscle FIRST, and then only when all the muscle is gone will they start losing fat... it's because your body, when it's starving, concentrates on bare survival. Once you lose all your muscle, and then the fat, you have nothing left and will shortly die.

If you want to lose weight, you have to suffer in different ways... a healthy diet and exercise plan. But it's got to beat starvation or chemically burning out your esophagus. If she keeps these ideas in her head, she will need help to get them out. Talk to her about it.

Bulimia is dangerous. Bulimia is a terrible illness and people who have it suffer a lot, and many of them need treatment, some of them even need to be hospitalized to get better.

Bulimia does not make you lose weight the way you want it to work. Once you've started, you become addicted to it and will not be able to stop it. Many people have had lifelong problems after serious eating disorders.
I would strongly recommend you have a chat with your friend and tell her she is lovely the way she is and if she wants to do something for her health, you might do some kind of exercise together, so it is more fun.

Losing weight works only by eating healthyly and by exercising.

Bulimia is a condition where the person vomits up all intake of food before its metabolised by the body. No food equals weight loss certainly but there are so many problems to deal with that only a misguided fool would even consider it. Apart from all the damage to the bodys systems you also have to deal with really bad acidic breath and loss of dental enamel due to acidic erosion. Dont go there !

When one vomits regularly, as in some forms of bulimia, it will erode the lining of the stomach and esophagus which can lead to esophageal and/or cancer. Chemotherapy usually causes weight lose. If you don't die from the heart attack first.

No it doesn't. When you binge, you eat more than you're burning off, so you GAIN weight. And when you puke, the calories are still there (I know someone already said this). Even if your friend is "thinking" about becoming a bulimic, get her help NOW. It's best to get help for her and educate her on the subject BEFORE she starts.

By working if you mean losing weight, yes it does make you lose weight but in the process of doing that it also makes you very unhealthy!
Advise your friend that this is not a very good idea, get her help if she's serious about attempting it.

Yes it does make you lose weight, and it will work fast too. However if she's going to eat and throw it up, she might as well just not eat at all. Doctors try to make you believe you'll get seriously ill if you dont eat 3 meals a day, but not eating food is very good for you as long as you're a mature adult. I wouldn't recommend it if you're a teenager and since most bulemics are teenagers, I wouldn't recommend it.

Keep in mind bulemia involves throwing up all your stomach acid as well, which will end up burning your esophogus as well as decaying your teeth. It's not very sexy when you've only got 8 yellow teeth left when you're 25. If you're that desperate to lose weight, dont be a sissy..just fast

No it doesnt. Bc even though your puking up your food, you are still absorbing the calories. Tell your friend to get some help and just eat healthier
