CHI's are the best and they've got hair products too.. they run around $115-$180 or so.. but they are worth it..
they work on anytyoe of hair, thin thick curly wavy textured course (spelling?) i mean ANY type.. try it.. other than that Conair has good straighteners and they aren't nearly as pricey, Revlon works really well too..

OMG yes. I flat iron my hair every day. I use a thin iron form revelon then I apply that aqua spray to my hair doesn't burn up form the heat. Whatever straightener you get make sure its ceramic, and not conair. All my friends and me have had terrible experiences with conair. Go with a salon brand.

CHI is the best! I have had two and I love them!
When it comes to flat irons....you really do get what you pay for and it's better to spend the money for something that works rather than wasting small amounts to find a good flat iron.
FYI...I got my new CHI on e-bay for $79.99 (reg $120)...so I suggest shopping around for the best price.

CHI is definately the best brand but a tad pricey.
if many people with different hair types are going to use it, go for CHI Turbo with different heat settings...most expensive...maybe about $150
if you have thin hair...go for the Ultra CHI...available at Ulta Cosmetics stores only i believe. they run at about $135
and if you have relatively thick hair...go for the regular CHI...only one heat setting that gets very hot....cheapest at about $110

I love my CHI Turbo. I have had it for almost 2 years and it still works like day 1.
