We brought a new puppy home (a Lhasa Poo). We thought we had found a puppy that my wife wouldn't be allergic to. It has been in the home for a week now, and my wife is having allergic asthma attacks and getting worse. It has become apparent that my wife and the dog can't live together. What do we do to find the puppy a new home?

Put adds up in all of the local grocerie stores and pet stores. Ask the pet stores if they will help you find the pet a home.

Have you tried shaving the dog down? Im a groomer and a lot of people do this for cats and dogs when theres allergy problems. You can also try better air filtration systems in your home, and possibly allergy medicine.
I dont know if you have already tried this stuff, I just hate to see people get rid of a new puppy if there are other options, maybe not thought of yet. And it sounds like you 2 want a puppy.
Good luck.

DO NOT GIVE HIM TO THE ANIMAL SHELTER!!!

Most dogs at animal shelters do not get adopted, and so they must be killed.

Check your newspaper for a phone number in which you can contact them. Call them and find out how much you will pay, and how many words you get. I have never given something away in the newspaper, so I don't know, but giving away ought to be free. They seem to price it according to how many words you use, and how much you are selling your item (the puppy!) for. Figure out how you want to list your puppy, and try to include the words "wife allergic."

Then call the newspaper back, and tell them you would like to post an ad. Tell them what the ad will say. For some newspapers, you have to actually SEND in what you want listed.

It's easy, and if you sell, your puppy should get a GOOD home.

Good Luck!

So you fell for the scam about poodle mix, designer breed, non-allergenic dogs. I feel bad for you. People are mass producing these mutts and lieing to them and charging thousands of diollars sometimes for these dogs. You will be lucky to get any of your money back, certainly not all of it. Run an ad in the paper or check out craigslist.com and post it there. Be up front about people tho about them not being non-allergenic. Sorry you were scammed.

Take it to a "No Kill Shelter" in your area. Puppies are easy to place so it should go to a good home.

Why get rid of the puppy? Who's the sick one here, the dog, or the wife?
