Put some drops of pure Castor oil on your nail too which will sooth out Why are you thinking too much ! And why you become shy like.Well buy some Bandage which are waterproof.Paste on each finger covering your nail. This way it will protect your nail from fungus or bacteria. And you won't bite it.The most soft way is stop unnecessary thinking-say about your future, boyfriend if you have it,academic way examination or if you are working stop worrying. If you are on a computer desk, and talking with your friends or a boy friend, don't be surprise and bite your nail.If you don't get your response, don't strike your legs on the floor too.put some drops of Castor oil on your nails before you go for sleep which will sooth out your crap nail.

chewing gum has worked for me as well as polishing your nails with some clear nail growth polish every other day (even if you have little stubs) and applying lotion to your hands, it smooths the cuticles and your nails will automatically look and feel better and before long you will see how nice they look and you won't want to bite them again plus you will be making a good habit to care for your nails which should keep you on the right track.
sometimes just finding something to do with your hands keeps them to busy to find there way to your mouth.
buy your self a new ring as a reward and when your nails start looking better you can wear it and show it off.
mostly you just need to be super aware of the urge to bite and stop yourself.
good luck.

Just keep your nails trimmed at all time, so there´s just no nail to chew upon. ;)
Also, nail biting is a habit you get into over years. It´s a symptom, not a "disease".
Whenever you catch yourself biting your nails, try to figure out what kind of situation you´re in. Are you nervous? Hungry? Shy? Try to figure out what the real issue is, then think about how to avoid these situations and/or deal with them. :)

Keep a nail file or emery board on you at all times. When you feel the urge to bite, file the nail instead.
It will only take 2 weeks to get over your habit.

You might want to try getting a new manicure every week or so. When you get home, just apply the "nasty nail polish" on top of it, since it's clear. If you spend a lot of money on it, you won't want to ruin it. Also since you would be doing it every week, it would never come off! I hope this helps!

Control yourself.
JK. When you're at home you can put hotsauce or chili powder on them. When you're not home, just realize that no one like to see a nailbiter biting their nails, then spitting out the remnents. Maybe that will stop you.

Think about all these small tiny germs living under your nails just waiting for you to stick them into your mouth making you sick. That's what my sixth grade science teacher told us before we all clipped our finger nails of and examined them under a micro scope. It's not just germs: fungus, dirt, and when you don't wash your hands that adds to the bacteria that grows in your mouth. IF this doesn't help, you're gross to even keep doing it. Is it for attention or are you that bored?

Rub your fingers with pure Aloe. It will help keep your nails and fingers healthy and you will have absolutely no desire to bite your nails after your first taste of pure aloe.
