IMAC QUESTION:GIMP app Question? iam stuck big time?

got gimp installed and ran it
installed X11 from my start up disk and now when i start up gimp i just get a a black/grey screen
i need a step by step guide.

or if you could come over and install that would be gravy!

my mac spec is here
