It's all about portion control. The secret to weight loss isn't a secret. It's about eating less calories than your body needs, and burning off extra calories that your body doesn't need, through exercise. While it's true that some foods have more fat, and aren't good for your arteries, among other things, I can't think of any food that you can't eat and still lose weight. Instead of having two pieces of pizza, have one. Drink water instead of soda. Diet sodas are loaded with salt, so they're not always the best choices. If you don't like a lot of water, put a squeeze of lemon in it. Doing this yourself is better than buying it ready-made at the store, as sometimes there are extra additives in it that you don't put in it at home. If you want to know more about taking off weight sensibly, go to the following sites: www.sparkpeople.com and www.tops.org. Sparkpeople is a free service. TOPS has thousands of chapters throughout the world, and is a weight support organization that specializes in helping people succeed at weight loss. I am a member of both, and have seen much success with both places. <*)))><

No need to give up any food. The biggest thing is to eat these in moderation. and make sure you balance these "bad" foods with healthier foods too.
Also, it is best to eat more small meals throughout the day instead of 3 big meals.
Lowering your BMI to normal isn't just to get rid of the extra weight. If you lower your weight, you probably will lower your cholesterol with it and decrease your chances of becoming diabetic. It will be very beneficial for you in the long run.
But overall, just try to start eating in moderation and eating a more balanced diet with small meals throughout the day. It's definitely hard around the holiday to start tho- start Jan 1st! :o)
I know it's much easier said than done, but you can do it!

i have lost weight with the weight watchers method, where you can eat everything, but just a little of the really high-calory stuff.
I believe you can regularly have chocolate and also pizza and things like that, but maybe just half of what you would normally have and if you still feel hungry fill your tummy with veggies. They are a real miracle drug for weight loss!
I think you should never give up something totally, especially if you really like it. So have a treat every once in a while, but don't overdo it.

Give up all sugar/high fructos corn syrup. Drink only water or unsweeted green tea. You will be amazed at how much you can lose with only that lifestyle change. Then after a few weeks omit some other wasteful foods. Like white flour. Only 100% whole grains. Good Luck

If you try to fill yourself on pizza, you'll gain weight. Chinese is bad because of the sodium content. Fill up more on veggies, choose low sodium whenever possible, give up as much sugar and refined white flour as possible. You don't have to give them up entirely, just regard them as "treats". I lost several pounds when I started avoiding foods with a high salt content. That was all water. When I find myself gaining weight, I simply avoid the "bad stuff" and stick to lean meats, veggies and whole grains for a while.

Only the fattining ones...Make a little microsoft exel spreadsheet to help balance your diet to a certain amount of fat consumed each month...Vegetable pizza is definatly healthier than cheese or pepperoni, yet it still is fatty food....cut down on the fat, and eat healthy things, yogurt, vegatables, fruits...etc..

I don't think you need to give anything up really. Just cut back the bad stuff and eat in lightly. That's what I do.
