That's perfecly OK. And "Jaime" is right. We might refer more specifically to a musical genre by asking "Que clase de musica te gusta?"

You're right. When you're going to tell this or to write this you need to put an accent mark on the following words: ¿Qué tipo de música te gusta? Because every question in Spanish needs an accent mark. Hope you got it ;)
