It's nuts. I've only had him for maybe 2 days and I am completely in love with it. It's sooo lovable. It wants to sit on my shoulder and hang out with me. I've already taught it to gives kisses. And it makes the kisses noise and then touches my lips. It's so cute. If I say step up it steps on my finger. I can hold my finger 3-4 inches from it. I can say let's go for a ride and it'll hop on my shoulder. I'm not imagining this. My hubby is jealous of the little birdy lol. Am I imagining this? Oh and it LOVES it's little head to be scratched. It'll put it's head down for me to keep scratching. It eats out of my hand to. The only thing is that it doesn't make any noises except for the kissing sound. No whistles, no singing. It's very very quiet. Will this change?

The are loveable little critters. I have two. You have a well cared for hand fed bird. Someone was a very good serogate mother to him or her. Females are usually more loving but that's not always the case. Some talk up a storm (males ) and some never say a word, Males usually start talking under their breath from the nest and if it is still a baby you can put it up near your chin and stroke it's head and it may make cooing noises. They are just like people, they have their own little personalities and respond to who cares for them. Your baby most likely got a lot of attention from his 2nd mom and warmed right up to you. My baby is in there whistling up a storm now. Sam the old man(he's 5) would rather he shut up and quit annoying him with his whistles. I was inthralled with my birds also. Just remember they need and deserve a lot of love and attention and will be good pets for many years. They live to 18 years of age.

The best way to get your bird to sing and talk is by teaching him yourself. Just like you taught him to give kisses, you can teach him songs and words. Pick a song that you like (something simple) and whistle it to your bird while your around him. Hell pick up the sounds eventually. Same thing with words, if you talk to him a lot and repeat specific words or sounds eventually hell learn to mimic them.

Hope this helps.

you have to teach it things by whistling and saying the same thing a lot he/she will eventually learn.
