Recently, I was in a car accident and stayed home for 2 months. I found out I was pregnant and returned to work. I'm between a rock and a hard spot. HELP!!!

I would wait until four months. Give yourself time to know you are not going to miscarry, and that still gives them time to find someone to cover you during your medical leave. It is a federal law that your company has to keep your job open for you for at least 6 weeks and up to 3 months. http://www.eeoc.gov/policy/docs/fmlaada.html
This may not mean though that coworkers won't be resentful. After both my children were born I ended up finding different employers that were great promotions.

Some things to consider : Are you going back to work after the child is born? (if so make this clear to your employer)

Do you have a good child care service for if and when you do decide to return to work?

Good luck and Happy New Year.

It's bad superstision to tell anyone until you are atleast 3 months (German tradition). Anything could happen until then. After that you should be good to go. I would wait that long at least. Just remember, you couldn't help the accident, if you could have you wouldn't have been in one. Also, women get pregnant all the time and have to tell their bosses. They won't be too shocked. If a man were to go to them and tell them that he was pregnant, now that would be a shock. don't worry about it. It's your life.

I wouldn't say a word until you are totally showing and have to announce your leave. Around 7 mths, contact the HR dept and ask what your rights are and how to diplomatically handle this. When you do inform your boss, make sure that you are in good standing and will leave your work completed as expected until you have to go on leave.

i told my manager and assistant managers as soon as i found out. i was about a couple of weeks into the pregnacny when i found out. i was feeling a bit tired and going to the bathroom to potty every 10 min is seems so i was glad to find out why. i do work at Fed Ex Kinko's and we do lift boxes every so often so i took that as a factor as well. plus it was exciting news for me, i could not hide it for so long!!!
but when you feel it is time you should tell them, i hope it all turns out okay.

Its not your fault. You didn't ask to be in the car accident, and now that you are pregnant. She can't fire you ( at least in Cali) they have to give you your maternity time. You need to tell her ASAP .

Tell her right away, so if you have any appointments or anything along those lines, she knows and cannot hold it against you.
