I’m holding a Singaporean passport, but currently working in the EU. I’m taking a career break and plan to stay in Thailand as a tourist for a while. I heard that every foreign tourist, entering Thailand, will have their passport stamped with a 30-day entrance visa. After that, if they want to stay, the foreigners often make runs to Cambodia or Malaysia to renew their visas.

Do you know if this process also applies to Singapore citizens and others in the Asean? Can we enter Thailand many times, each less than 30 days, without having to renew our visas at a Thai consulate or an agent?

My sincere thanks,

Hello Friend

Please do not ask such important questions like you did at a site like this. Such questions should be directed straight to the local Thai embassy in your country. Thais can be real _ssholes when it comes to the visa game. Don't fool around. Get the right information and play it safe.

Seriously....visa requirements and there uses are a big game in Thailand...with the Thais making new rules as they choose. Be careful.

Answer is yes, as long as you leave before the 30 day window, you can come and go as many times as you want. The Cambodia visa run is a simple affair and I recommend if you ever do this, try it after 5:00 PM as there are no lines and can get through the whole ordeal in 15 minutes

Yes. As Bradford mentioned, he's right. You may go check some websites regarding Thailand Embassy. As I heard before, the tourists who hold the visas from many Asian countries might be able to get 90 days tourist visa upon arrival at the airport. But please double check to make sure! Hope you have a good trip to Thailand!
