My Stimpy went through this stage but I can't remember how long it lasted. Its been 13 years ago. It will only seem to last "forever". LUCK....

Lock the cat in another room at night or give him away. The bathroom is my 1st suggestion since if the cat pees in there, it is most easily cleanable. You can put a litter pan and a bowl of water in with him if you are worried the cat will need something. Maybe a kid was mean to your cat at his last home.

I have a cat (who is blind) that wakes me up by biting my arm, some times. The fact he knows I am booting him off the bed 15 seconds after he bites me never bothers him, but as I love him I just deal, but a kid shouldn' t have to deal.

Tell the kitty in a firm voice NO everytime he gets on the bed.

Keep the kitty locked in another room at night with his litter food and water and toys.

Get the kitty his own bed to sleep on.

Spray the kitty with a water bottle everytime he jumps on the bed.

Whatever you choose to do, be consistent with it.
Good luck.

this is common for young cats. they think of it as play, but we do not. maybe Lock him in a room so he can't get to your child at night. if he's asleep in the day, chase him out of his room. stomp your feet & ssss at him. some times they learn to stay out & some times they don't. it's a 50/50 chance he'll learn not to . just keep working w/him. :)
