Do you: a) wear a lot of eye makeup or b) have any allergies? I had this happen last year, and it wouldn't go away so I freaked and went to the doctor. He checked it out and said that a tiny piece of dust (which apparently I'm allergic to) got in my eye. His directions were to lay off the mascara (eye shadow is okay) and apply ice, and it cleared up in a few days. The other answer is that you might have an eye infection from using old eye makeup products. If you're using products that are a little older, chuck them and head to the store for some new ones. Keep applying ice and try not to touch it too much!

I'm not sure why it is puffy. Sometimes putting teabags (wet ones) on your eyes takes out some of the puffiness. Another home-based cure is cucumbers.

Now, if you have a sty that won't help. However, if they are just puffy due to being tired or early morning puffiness both of these might work.

Good Luck

Ok I had a really bad stye/eye infection not too long and my eyelid was swollen too. I was told to put a warm rag on it, or better yet put a potato in the microwave heat it up so it is really warm then wrap a rag around it and hold it over your eye for 15-30mins or until you can't take the heat remove it for a little while then repeat. It really help the swelling go down for me.

I think it may be an eye infection? You said it isn't pink eye. Sometimes I would get an eye infection and my eyes would swell up. I would use Benedryl for a couple days and the swollen eyes would be gone. Also, try cold cucumber slices on your eyes. Or cold packs, ice, etc. If it might be an infection..use warm water soaked towels over eyelids.

If it's not a medical problem or an allergic reaction, I recommend Indulge Soothing Eye Gel from Mary Kay. It feels nice and cool when you apply it, and it relieves puffiness fairly quickly. It sells for $15, and one container usually lasts a really long time.

Are you allergic to a cosmetic? I would quit wearing eyeshadow for a week or so to see if that is the problem. Also, put ice on your eyelid to reduce swelling. Hope this helps.
