Listen Sasha,
Don't pay any attention to all these other fools. You believe what you want to believe. If you think it was a miracle, then it was a miracle. The Lord works in mysterious ways.

Weather The shooting star you saw was a coincidence or caused by someone more powerful than us, I don't really know. But, I do know that you can have a chance to see your mother again. The Bible promises us this at John 5:28-29. If you want to be there for her when she is resurrected, you just need to learn what God requires of you.

Honestly, my hunch is that is was just a coincidence. But...I do not claim to have all the answers. Who knows? Maybe that really WAS a sign from your mother. It could have been a sign that she is at peace now...and not necessarily that she is in an afterlife.
Personally, I tend to think it was just a coincidence, like I said. But...you never know. There are a lot of mysteries in the universe.
EDIT: Oh, and you're going to get a lot of rude answers to this (more than likely). Just try to ignore them = )

Unless the supernatural is the only possible explanation, it is coincidence.
Since shooting stars are a somewhat common phenomenon, especially in country areas where pollution doesn't block out most the stars, Ockham's Razor would declare this event a coincidence. Wishful thinking on your part.

Coincidence if it happened at all, more likely you saw what you wanted to see.
If Mom can make a shooting star, surely appearing in front of you and speaking with you for a bit would have been an easy trick, so why didn't she just do that?

Coincidence. You were looking for a "sign", so you would have taken anything that happened after that, as one.
"Right as I lifted my head, a cat walked by - it's a sign!"
"Right as I lifted my head, a ladybug landed on my knee- it's a sign!"
"Right as I lifted my head, 3 leaves dropped from a tree! My Mom's favorite number was 3! It's a sign!"
"Right as I lifted my head, I got a tingling sensation in my stomach ... it's a sign!"
What wouldn't have been a sign, at that point?

During a particularly heavy meteor shower, you can see them as often as every twenty seconds. Average is more like every ten minutes or so, but meteor showers are fairly common, with about 14 expected in the coming year.

For you, maybe it was a sign for the rest of us I'm sorry to say this, it was probably space junk.
Maybe the universe was giving you a wink? If you took comfort from it at the time thats all that matters!
