A great match up. The quick handed Patterson against the fleet footed, slick boxing Tunney. Tunney toO experienced and too smart he out boxes the smaller (yes despite the previous answerer's thinking differently) Patterson, wears him down and KO's Floyd in round 13.

My first inspite of the shown fact that became that Patterson could have dealt with Tunney convincingly, Gene have been given Dempsey nicely previous Jack's best and not in any respect extremely fought any authentic a point opposition different than Jack. I additionally think of Patterson had the abilities to determination Tunney. Gene Tunney jogs my memory of a heavyweight version of Joe Calzaghe, I do exactly not provide them the honor their record would point out they deserve.

I liked Floyd Patterson, another fighter with a great heart, but Tunney would knock him out.

Good defensive fighter

Another good fighter (Tunney) who was somewhat overrated. His biggest claim to fame is his 2 wins over Dempsey. Patterson was a underrated champ and he had good power. This bout goes the distance as a rousing but majority draw.
