Unrealistic though technically possible answer: HGH (human growth hormone). The big problem with this is that it's illegal and difficult to obtain unless you have a diagnosed condition that is stunting your growth. Since 5'6" is not unusually short, you're unlikely to find a doctor who will get you on a growth hormone regimen. There are also radical surgical procedures that involve breaking and stretching your leg bones, but again you're almost certainly not a candidate for this kind of treatment.

Realistic answer: Chances are you're done growing. By your early to mid-20s, your bone sutures have finished fusing and your skeletal system is as big as it's going to get. You can add bone mass by excercising, but there isn't really any way to "work" your way to being taller. There are exceptions. My dad grew about an inch in his late 20s, but I (like most folks) didn't.

Your best bet is to use what you've got to your advantage. Work out. The ladies (or gents if you prefer) will go for 5'6" with washboard abs over 6'2" and flabby any day. Dress and groom yourself well. Project confidence and be at ease with yourself. Charisma is contagious, and I know plenty of short/bald/gimpy/whatever guys who own a room when they enter it because they KNOW they're the best.

Sorry I can't help you much with the height issue. I hope my "plan B" suggestions are usefull, though.

It's possible that HGH (Human Growth Hormone) could give you another inch or two MAYBE, but it's probably not worth the health risks and I doubt it would even work at your age. You are most likely done growing now.

I'm 5' 6" too and I'm 34 years old. I don't care, why should you? Get over it, it really doesn't matter at all unless you are insecure. My height never kept me from getting laid. Sure I'm not going to be a basketball prodigy, but I could care less about that.

Acceptance would go a long way here, my friend. It really isn't a big deal in the big scheme of things. If it's really bugging you, they make special shoes you can buy that will give you another 2+" of height. I think they are called elevators or something or wear boots.

I've found that most women don't mind my height at all. It's only an issue if you make it one and you have a Napoleon complex.

Men don't normally ossify (the process of the cartilaginous growth plates turning into bone;thereby ending the growth process) until about the age of 26 (women go through this process by about age 19 years).
Proper exercise and diet, along with enough rest should ensure a tendency to fully realize this potential.
Your heredity (mom/dad/uncles/grandparents/etc.) really do have more of an influence over how tall you'll ultimately be than anything else.
A one foot change in height over the next four years seems to be a pretty much next to impossible feat, however.

Humans reach 95 % of their height at age 18. At 22, you have little chance of getting any taller. Neverthless, i think you may still be able to grow a quarter or two of an inch in the next few years. Try getting a healthy dose of calcium, since they are good for growth of bones. You can do this by drinking a glass of milk everyday.

I'm not sure what your question is. Do you want to be taller, or are you asking if you could weigh 65 pounds?

If you are 22 and 5'6, it is very likely you are going to be 5'6 for life. It is possible to grow a little more, but I don't think it's probable. As for weighing 65lbs? I don't think you'd survive.

Hello =)

At age 22, the only option would be surgery.

Your legs can be broken, and reset in such a way that you will be taller after they heal. You may need to travel abroad to have this procedure done, however, as ethically, many doctors will refuse to do it.

They tell me its popularly done in Asian countries.

Theoretically, if done in more than 1 place, you could gain another 4 inches, but consider how odd you would look, with your body out of proportion like that.

A bit like jack skellington, I should think.

Namaste, and Happy New Year,

You are done growing. But you could have an operation to lengthen your shins if you want to become taller. When you say you weigh 65 I assume that you mean 65kg? That is a good weight for your height in my opinion.

EBM has no idea what they are talking about. The only thing that may work is HGH or Human Growth Hormone but that is very dangerous. Unfortunately the only thing you can do safely would be to wear heels, or height enhancing shoe inserts, and make sure you keep up good posture as poor posture can make you seem shorter.

I really do not understand your question, but if you are 5'6 more than likely you will not grow any taller. I really do not know why you have an issue being 5'6 that's tall enough. Heck I am 5'2 and I am not complaining
