This will probably blow you away, but until we got our pug my favorite breed was stafordshire bull terrier, commonly referred to as Pit Bull. The only reason he's not still with us is he developed a allergy to wet grass and the allergy shots quit having an effect and we had to have him put down....He was the easiest dog i've seen to housetrain. We've only had our pug about a week, but we love him. After Buddy the pit, i didn't think my wife would ever want another house dog.....

you mean breed. I personally like Alaskan Malamutes and Basenjis. I do have a little place in my heart though for the pit bull because so many people hate a very loving and friendly dog.

I like any dog in the herding group (heelers, border collies, corgis, sheepdogs, etc) and Malamutes, Dobermans and Pit Bulls. Papillions and shih tzus are cool, too.

My dog Bebe. She is a rescued terrier mix. Next is my rotten little Chihuahua Dewey, also a rescue. He had been abused and has had to learn to trust people again.
I guess the short answer is: Rescued dogs!
