Ketchel was an animal who was as tough as nails. He fought heavyweights and knocked them out. This fight would be a bloodletting with both fighters tolling out extreme damage to each other. Both fighters would not take a backward step and there would be brutal and exciting exchanges throughout the fight. The doctor comes to Hagler's corner at the end of round 14, looks at the cuts over both eyes and almost stops the fight but Goody Petronelli is able to stop the blood flow and the doctor let's the fight go on. Round 15 with both fighters exhausted Hagler lands a right jab to the head, left hook to the body followed with left uppercut to the head and right hook to head. Ketchel finally succumbs to exhaustion and Marvin's brilliant four punch combination and can't beat the count of ten. Hagler by KO at 1:31 of the 15th round in one of the greatest fights ever.

Ketchel has a rep as great puncher which I think is overrated. Even if he was a good puncher, Hagler by far was a better fighter. In this this bout, I have Hagler winning a dominant/impressive 15 rd unanimous decision.

P. S. I have had this problem with pre-1930 fighters, I am not sure about how good/great their opposition was.

hi Matt! impressive journey up as favourite sir. Stanley Ketchel is between the suitable 10 or possibly even larger middleweights in boxing historic previous and a real warrior contained in the hoop with a crude merely about caveman way of scuffling with. yet he change into also a organic fighter with great punching skill and staying power. Marvin Hagler is extremely between the suitable 3-4 middleweights in boxing historic previous and may want to do all of it contained in the hoop, field, slug it out and he also possessed an iron chin. He change right into a fierecely determined fighter and may want to have made a troublesome opponent hostile to any of the greats. right here's slightly rundown of each guy: Stanley Ketchel "The Michigan assassin" received fifty 2 lost: 4 attracts: 4 KO's: 40 9 Middleweight Champ from 1908-10 with 4 defenses and a regain of the identify. Marvin Hagler "mind-blowing Marvin" received: sixty 2 lost: 3 attracts: 2 KO's: fifty 2 Middleweight Champ from 1980-87 with 12 identify defenses The wrestle Hagler might want to be scuffling with a guy in Ketchel who might want to be more suitable and harder punching in Ketchel yet to boot a very crude fighter in all likelihood plenty like Antuofermo with skill and a unfavourable guy. Hagler might want to hearth out those jabs of his from his southpaw stance conserving the aggressive Ketchel at bay. Ketchel might want to be able to land some troublesome images yet keep in thoughts Hagler in all likelihood had the perfect chin of all time in my opinion. Hagler might want to have the sparkling benefit in boxing potential and may want to rock Ketchel some cases forcing him to carry. yet in those clinches might want to be the position Ketchel might want to be able to do slightly damage of his own. i have self assurance that Ketchel might want to live to tell the tale some demanding rounds and wrestle lower back troublesome showing remarkable resiliency and backbone forcing this wrestle to bypass the gap. Hagler might want to be the sparkling decision winner in a brutal wrestle.
