They stopped working Christmas Eve, so far we have replaced the headlight relay, bulbs and sockets. They flip up like they should and all other lights work. We do not have the $ to take it to a shop but must get them fixed ASAP. This is our only ride. Any advice as to what to try next would be greatly appriciated. Also if anyone knows where I can get a color coded wiring diagram that would be great to as I'm afraid that it is a wire problem, perhaps a faulty ground.

Check the fuse to make sure it's not the problem. If you dont' have the money to take it to a shop, stop by your local auto parts store and see if they have the Chilton's repair manual for your car so you can do your own troubleshooting. You might also call your local library to see if they have auto repair manuals that you can check out.

I had a couple of Celicas (same headlights/switches) in that era and both had to have the turn signal/headlight switch replaced. As you have no airbag, this is fairly easy, but I would recommend that you by a repair manual and follow their instructions. Parts should be cheap at a salvage yard. See if the salvage will let you watch them remove the part as this may help later on.

for a wiring dig.. go to auto zone or any auto supply store and get the repare Manuel as well..
now it will not be a ground as the hole car is the ground but you can check that easy the ground wire is a green or green yellow some times a black so look carefully and check the fuse for the lights not the opening of the light house replace it....

WIRING DIAG AT AUTO PARTS STORE , GO ON LINE TRD.COM.SOUNDS LIKE THE HEAD LIGHT SWITCH THAT U TURN ON THE LIGHTS WITH IS BAD. ALSO TRY THE FUSE BOXES THERE R 2 OF THEM 1 UNDER THE HOOD 1 UNDER THE DASH P.S. IF U R SWEET ENOUGH GO TO THE TOY DEALER PARTS COUNTER ASK FOR DIAGRAM SHOULD BE ABLE TO MAKE U A COPY IN COLOR.
