My husband and I paid a huge fee to get our American Family Insurance health policy going. After months of being jerked around they finally told us that my husband is eligible for the coverage (although he's had numerous health issues), but that I was turned down due to the fact that I'm on probation (for something that has nothing whatsoever to do with health or insurance). I am completely healthy. Am I SOL because I'm on probation?

insurance is ALL about discrimination. That's why men pay more for life insurance (they die sooner), 16 year old boys pay more for car insurance (they have more accidents), and workers comp costs more for demolition contractors than office workers.

You will have to shop around, but the whole probation thingie makes you a MUCH greater risk, so you will end up paying a lot more for insurance.

No, that's just wrong. Being on probation has nothing to do with your health. Contact an attourney.
