Actually there are 3 levels of mania... hypomania, mania and hypermania.

Hypo is easier to control... Mania is a sign you losing it... and Hyper is a sign youve lost it.

More suicides are committed in Hypermania that in depression.

That is when someone who suffers from Bipolar disorder have their behaviors that's considers highs, this is going without sleep for days, speaking rapidly, racing thoughts, over-spending, sexual acting out, gambling, writing checks without having money, obsessive cleaning, and doing things that are not their typical behavior.
