I think we all know that Jesus was a good man, but who are these people walking around calling themselves Christians? I mean, who are these people like Brad of cyberpanhandler.com? How are people like me supposed to believe?

Why do you make sweeping generalizations about Christians? Have you met all of them?

You are falsely accusing all Christians of being hypocrites. Some are, but not all. You seem to want to judge Jesus based on the actions of people who are going against what He taught.
If I robbed a bank claiming to be you should you go to jail? No.
So why do you blame Jesus for what others do?

Christians are hypocrites for the simple reason that other people allow them to be. If the public at large would begin calling them on their bullsh!t and treating them like the third-class citizens that they are, eventually society would evolve past the point where these fools enjoy political and social power.
I hope that within my lifetime we get to the point where playing christian is less socially acceptable than smoking seems to be now. I know it probably won't happen, but it's something to shoot for...
PS- Even if he'd existed, Jesus would not have been a "good man." Read a bible sometime, he was an a$$hole just like his followers.

Well to answer your first question christians are hypocrites because we are all human and according to the bible we all fall short of the glory of God. To not be a hypocrit you have to be perfect. I am not perfect and neither is any other human on earth. I am a christian and trust me I have had my fair share of hypocritical moments. That is the wonderful thing about God and his son Jesus. I can still be a christian even though I am a sinner and do stupid things like being a hypocrit. He loves me even though I do stupid things every day of my life. Being a christian does not mean you are perfect and it certainly does not mean you are better then anyone else on earth. It means you have accepted the fact that you aren't perfect and that you have humbled yourself to the one person who was and is perfect to save your self from hell. Christians want to share this beautiful gift that God gave us with everyone, some of us might go about it wrong but that just proves our point that we are all sinners and that we need Jesus in our life. "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever shall believe in him shall not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16. Not all but a good majority of them are hypocrites. I beleive in God and I know what I need to do to live right. However I will not shove my faith down someones throat or judge someone if I know that Im not 100% perfect. Even if I was I wouldnt do it. The only people I judge are people who say they are Christians and are hypocrites..i love to rip them because theyre ignorant and stupid.

Some people who aren't born of God, reborn spiritually yet call themselves Christians, but never actually Confessed Jesus Christ LORD and believed in their heart the Atonement for sins and Resurrection from the dead.
These people may be on the edge, near to crossing over in faith in Jesus Christ & God, and consider themself Christian but are still in a pre-salvation state.
When a true born of God Christian sins, Christian confesses sin to God, and God is faithful & just to forgive ones sin & cleanse them from it. A born of God Christian cannot abide in sin (make it a comfortable habbit) because of the Holy Seed within. Because when a person is born again, person has the Holy Spirit who is truth and leads into all truth and isn't a liar.
True Christians love the Lord their God with all heart mind & soul. They have confessed Jesus Christ their Lord. They trust & obey God. They also love others. Some are babies and some are more mature.
Those who are born of God through faith in Christ / God inheret the Kingdom of God (everlasting life). Jesus can never tell them, "Depart from me, ye workers of Iniquity, I never knew you.". God never aborts His children. Jesus Christ & our Heavenly Father know every child born of God

If you believe because of the conduct of a few people who call themselves Christians, you are believing for the wrong reason.
Oh...and Jesus is God, not just a good man. He lives and reigns on the right hand of the Father.
