it depends how u feel about him. if u love him then give him time to get over his ex (if he loves her). talk to him. understand y he sitll likes his ex. see if he really likes u. give him time. i been in a relationship like that but thats because w/my ex i had a son. try understanding his points and help him if he needs it.

Define "likes". I will observe that it is fairly normal to continue to love someone who you've previously been in love with. No longer being with them doesn't kill it, and really shouldn't, unless the relationship was particularly bad. There's nothing wrong about that - it's quite natural, and, really, if you can't love someone you spent a chunk of your life with, even if it didn't go as you might have hoped... you're kinda screwed somewhere.

That said, there's a difference between lingering affections and retaining the desire to be with someone. Ask them which it is. If you can trust them, believe them, and move on.

If you can't, then why can't you trust them?

Talking is the easiest answer, usually.

I know this is tough, but you've got to back off from the relationship. The more you try to get him interested, the more he's going to want his ex back. If you tell him, "I like you a lot but you still seem to have your mind on Millie. Let me know when you're ready to move on and maybe we can try again," he may get more interested and it frees you to look for someone who's ready for a relationship.

End the relationship. It's obvious, he has feelings for this other girl, so he should explore that before getting into a relationship with you.

ive been in this situation a few times, onlly the other way around. i suggest you leave him before he goes back to her and leaves you heartbroken. tell him why you are doing this and if you want it to work then he can talk to you after his feelings for her are gone
