My plan is unhealthy, but you'll get the job done.
1) Non-caffine weight loss pills (Hydroxy-cut).
2) TONS of diet soda. It dehydrates you, fills you up, and cranks you up, so it's almost like a second weight loss pill.
3) Special K and skim milk for breakfast (200 calories), Progresso Soup for Lunch (150 calories), a small dinner (Note: Spicy foods fill you up more. Do not eat cheese/fatty foods that slow down your system and get stuck in your colon). If you need a snack, have fruit or something with natural sugars to pep you up and give you vitamins. 1400 Calories MAX, 1200's bearable for most people. By far, late afternoon is the worst, so save the snack for then. Pickles and Sugar Free Jello have almost no calories. Remember, a pound is 3000 calories, 20X3000 is 60000 calories that need to be removed from your normal diet in the month.
4) Take vitamins
5) Do something that's going to make you sweat A LOT. Either run 3 miles, play racketball/squash for 45 minutes, take a spinning class, etc. The concept is to get you drenched for at least 30 minutes per day EVERY DAY. Have 3 activities so you vary your workout and don't get too sore or hurt.
6) Use the 3000c/lb formula to calculate how much actual weight you lost over then month. The remainder is just water, and will be gained back in 2 months, tops.

Hi Nick,
I wouldn't recommend trying to lose 20 pounds in one month. It isn't really healthy and won't lead to any long lasting health benefits.
However, I will say this. If you are looking to lose weight faster, there is a diet that has some controversy surrounding..but I used it to lose 90 pounds.
During 1 month I actually lose 24 pounds...even when I wasn't trying to.
If you haven't guessed that diet is called Atkins. You can read more about it here:
http://www.Atkins.com
It's a pretty basic idea, cut out bad carbs (bread, pasta, potatoes, etc), eat plenty of fish, chicken, turkey, tuna, etc. You can even eat lots of good vegetables like mushrooms, broccoli, peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, and lettuce.
It's a pretty good plan for losing weight fast..but I wouldn't say to go for it unless you are committed to living the Atkins lifestyle.
If you are interested, I have put together a free article entitled "The Secret To Weight Loss" on my blog. I have included the link to my blog in the resource box. Check it out when you get a chance, I believe it will definitely help you on your journey.
Blessings,
Mike

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!
Get started today!

First of all, it's not a good idea to lose that much weight in that short of a time. I lost weight really fast once, and I got stretch marks. Secondly, if you want to lose weight, all you have to do is cut out carbs - pasta, bread, potatoes, etc. and step up in your exercising routine.
Good luck.

Let's see, Quit eating, go on a diet, begin to walk five miles a day, or take a diet pill such as Adipex. It works, I've lost 50 pounds so far. I've eliminated sweets, desserts, pop, juice and starches, I watch my carbs and exercise. Good Luck!

Eat only when you're hungry. Eat one meal a day. No carbs. And drink plenty of water. If you have to snack eat carrot sticks, broccoli, fruit especially bananas if you like them for the potassium.

Twenty pounds in a months is a lot of weight to lose. Essentially if you are losing weight really fast, you are probably losing a great deal of water weight. Water weight can account for the first 10 quickly lost pounds. Your body can naturally fluctuate 3 - 5 pounds daily, on average 4 pounds, based on whether you have eliminated solid wastes from your system, and whether you have been eliminating water properly from your cells.
To lose a pound of fat, you must cause a 3500 calorie deficit in your intake and use of body calories. You can do this by decreasing your calorie intake, and increasing your exercise. I have no specific suggestion for a website to use for checking your daily calorie needs, but if you do a Google search for "daily calorie requirements" and possibly add "calculator" to the search, you should find a site that will help you determine exactly how many calories your body needs every day.
You should do a reality check on how much you eat by measuring your food (yes, with a measuring cup), and recording your food intake (every single bite and sip), in a little journal you can carry in your pocket. Do this for a week, and you may be surprised at how much you actually eat, verses how much you think you eat.
Losing 5 pounds in a week is probably not realistic. To get a quick start, you might look at Weight Watchers online, or check into the glycemic index, which is essentially what Jennie Craig uses to "separate good carbs from bad." There are tables online explaining the Glycemic Index (or GI), and how you can incorporate it into your day.
One of the easiest ways you can start yourself out in a healthy manner is to essentially cut out everything white from your diet, and replace it with something dark, crunchy, or with a rough texture. This means no white bread. Go for the whole wheat, multi-grained bread. No potatoes, no corn, SKIM milk is okay, no white sugar (and no, brown sugar is NOT okay!), and lots of fruits, veggies that are not starchy, and if you like meat, go for very lean cuts. Avoid oils and fats in cooking and on your salad dressing.
Olive oil and vinegar make a nice dressing, and if you really need something sweet, try stevia, which is a fair replacement for sugar. Flax seed oil is a good thing to add to your diet, as is ground flax seed (both available from health food stores). Do add a good multi-vitamin and mineral supplement to your day.
Also, drink plenty of water. You may feel like you are adding weight rather than taking it away, but water is a great help to your body's cells in flushing out toxins, and helping you to look and feel healthy and trim. Ideally you will start out with 1/2 ounce of water per pound of body weight for 3 days, and then if that is over 64 ounces, you can drop to 64 ounces (8 glasses) of water daily. A water bottle is great for monitoring your daily intake!
As far as exercise, don't jump in with both feet and then get overtired and burned out. Walking is excellent, and very good for you. Running is great, but hard on your joints, especially if you are starting out overweight and with muscles out of shape. If you decide to start running, be sure that you have proper running shoes to support your legs properly.
Lifting weights is very good because it builds up your lean muscle mass in your body. Muscle requires more energy (calories) than body fat, metabolically. If you don't have weights to lift, you don't need to spend a lot of money buying a weight set. Instead, you can get a set of surgical tubing which you can use to provide weight-like resistance.
Realistically, you should be able to lose 8 - 10 pounds in a month. Good luck and best wishes!
