They're going around in a circle for 4 hours. I guess you have to be pretty drunk to get a kick out of it.

I don't drink. I don't watch them go around in circles, it's usually an oval and then there are the road race type tracks. So, I don't have to be drunk but I sure do enjoy it at home and at the track. Don't knock it until you have tried it, I used to think like that until my husband took me to the races several years ago. Now, I can't wait for Feb.

EDIT: If you have been to a race at Charlotte, then I don't think that you will ever understand. NASCAR is not for you. Charlotte is GGRRREEAAATTT. I can't wait to go back and this year bring the R.V. that thought should really make you sick lol. Try thinking about the Pit strategy ...oh never mind you just don't get it. Have a sparkling day anyway.

No, NASCAR is a sport, its just all the aspects people dont see when they watch it, its who has the fastest pit crew, and the better car and how tight or loose it is, and how hot it is in the car, and dodging wrecks and being physically fit to race for a few hours at 200 mph and it be 120 degrees inside that car, heck yes its a sport, its the best sport out there, theres a lot of things tht has to happen it looks easy but its not and thats why they get paid the money they do.

Ok so you think it easy to drive for 4 hours in a 2 ton car going 160 - 200 mph. Ok get in your car, and drive on any interstate highway for 4 hours only stopping for fuel. At the end see how tired and exhausted you are. Now add 42 more drivers, doing the same thing you are, going to the same place as you, and wanting to get there before you. You gonna get pretty tired after the first hour.

Going around a circle for 4 hours ? Hmmm you didn't even mention pitting, wrecks. I have never ever watched or went to a race where they didn't pit or have a wreck. It's more to it then going in circles. Duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Well i guess you have to be a drunk to understand anything. LOL.

Well someone else that wants to start some crap.Well I see you can dish it out and good for you.
It seems that people who want too and ask this question are the same ones that ask if certain drivers are gay?Well ain't that something.
Do you drive ?
Well chances are the tire or other components of the car were tested and/or developed thru racing.
Did you know that certain NASCAR and F1 developements are in use in the military.
Well forget it some people never get it.

i guess you have to be pretty stoned to get a kick out of asking ignorant questions like this. i think you're lying about going to a race in charlotte. where is the track in charlotte, approximately? you don't know do you? because you're full of sh*t. you need to lay off the gonja before you find yourself 35 years old still living at your parents house. or worse yet, before you turn into a bat.

The same could be said for football. Eleven guys on a team, huddled in a circle, patting each other on the azs, jumping on top of each other for an hour and a half. Then they all run off to take a shower together.

It is a sport where they put all 43 teams on the field at the same time...
all drivers want to be in the same place at the same time, and they change the rules for each race.
So, your team better get it right the first time...pretty good use of dinosaur bones if you know what I mean.

It's a social event, whether you watch it at home or go to the track.

Your probably not into cars, so what's the point.

The kick for me is
The building of a car and seeing it's capabilities.
The speed.
The door to door competition.
The trouble on and off the track.
The last lap shootout.
The finish.
The models on the podium.
The fights.
The blowouts and crashes.
The rivalries.
The sponsor's.
The manufactures.
The driver's.
The tracks.
etc.

Try watching a couple of races. Learn about the sport. It's much more than driving around a track. That is.... if your question is an honest one.
