Freemasons have certain beliefs which Christians dislike, however they frequently do consider themselves Christians. Members are required to believe in a supreme being before joining the Freemasons.

There is an entire article on the relationship between Christianity and Freemasonry:

To be a freemason, one must believe in some sort of higher power. It does not have to be Christian but isn't necessarily non-Christian. Religion is one of the few topics that are not allowed to be discussed at freemason functions. Their group is not about upholding any religious belief over another.

A Mason believes in ONE GOD. ,BUT Masonry is NOT a religon!George Washington and many other founding fathers were Masons. They were founded centuries ago as GUILDS. They built the pyramids. No more secret than Knights of Columbus. They are into good works- the Shriners hospitals etc. They don't intrude or 'convert', but you may ask any Mason about them, and join if you are honest, trustworthy etc.Women have a lg part and young men and girls have their own organizations.

They are a secret society and should be avoided by Christians. They have a different religious book in countries that don't believe in Christianity.

No it does not require you to be non-christian.
It does require to believe in a higher power/supreme being/etc. They just don't care which one it is.

So you could be christian and a Freemason.

quite the contrary

Freemason society is a group of men who use their skills to better their community and those who cannot help themselves. they give of themselves - to me , that's a true christian.
they come from all backgrounds and religions. they are a 'secret society' to keep from being egotistical (which is a sin)

one must be invited to become a member by a member. this is how they know who and how to recruit - they recruit 'like minded' people.

Freemasonry is a secret Satanic organization. In fact at the highest levels of Freemasonry, Catholicism and Mormonism where they are identical to one another. Doubt it? Do the research. Catholics in their mass "re-crucify Meschiach". There are rites of Freemasonry which incorporate some form of human sacrifice.

I know someone that got out of that. He said that they do believe in a supreme being, but the question is who the being really is.

no it doesn't mean non Christian.

You don't know the rules to getting into the freemasons. It's a secret society so if anyone says "oh the rules to getting in are..." they are either just making things up, guessing or listening to someone else who makes things up and guesses.
