Yes and no. As a working actress myself, the competition is steep and it only gets more fickle as you get older. You pretty much have to be twice as good as the younger girls who already have experience, to get noticed. But, if you're serious about it and willing to put in all that effort, and if it's your passion. GO FOR IT! Take anything you possibly can, non- SAG jobs, indie/student films and specs. Any community theater, build up your resume, get into acting classes...even if you're an incredible actor....ALL agents look for where and who you've studied with and like to know and see that you're serious about your craft to get regular in put from an acting professional, so that's key even if you don't need it. Craig's list has many acting job posts and BackStage.com has listings and industry news/listings/resources.

It's never too late! Gabriel Byrne was 40 when he started. Scads of actors start late. Plus, your in the prime range of the most produced film / play concept:

Happy-go-lucky late 20's early 30's bachelor meets and falls hard for beautiful girl. Girl is attached to someone else. How can he impress her and win her love?

Your real question is can you put up with the actor's life? No money, 18 hour days running from audition to call-back to audition (if you're lucky), and living in the worst most run-down cheap apartment on the block that is cock roach infested. And waiting tables all night in between all of this.

It depends on what kind of roles you want. If you want to be a plastic beauty queen playing in teen flicks, you might be. But there are people of all ages who are fantastic actors and actresses. If you're willing to accept a variety of roles, it's definitely not too late to get involved.

For example: Jack Nicholson. One of my favorite actors ever. Obviously MUCH older than you, but also a great example that you don't need to be young to get good roles.

Not at all. You could be 95 years old and start one. You've got to have the talent, charisma, etc. And I don't know where some people get the idea that you have to be attractive physically to make it in the movies. There are plenty of ugly actors and actresses that make it big, not to imply that you are one.
