Regular soy sauce concentrates salt with soy protein to sky high levels, almost beyond super concentration of a saline solution (the point where no more salt crystals can be dissolved in a solution). Even light soy sauce is highly concentrated with salt (sodium chloride) and potassium.
Sodium and potassium play havoc with some peoples' blood pressure because it throws their blood electrolytes out of wack causing too much water retention and increasing blood pressure with swelling and endema.
Yet you could try to balance the electrolytes without eliminating sodium or soy sauce from your diet. Other electrolytes are calcium, maganese, magnesium, iron, and the lesser copper, zinc, and combos ... nitrites, nitrates, sulfates and sufites .....
Seeing that you cannot go around testing your blood for electrolyte balance it is easier to eat a balanced diet with loads of vegtables and whole grains. These foods have all the electrolytes you need and some buffering salts and organics which allow your body to pick and choose what to absorb. It is so much better than doing blood tests and so much easier.
Eat more fresh and whole foods moderately, using moderate amounts of your favorite condiments and you will probably do fine even with high blood pressure. Start exercising moderately as well and your blood pressure meds will work better and may be reduced.

Soy sauce is ALL SALT. It's really bad for your blood pressure if yours is high to begin with. And just because you are on medication to help lower it.....using all that salt will just cancel out the medications benefits.

Stay way from ALL soy sauce. Even the less sodium ones.

Even low sodium soy sauce is bad for high blood pressure (low sodium) diets.

My bottle says 575 mg per 1 tbsp serving, compared to 920 mg for regular. 1 tbsp of the low sodium is 24% of the daily limit for a regular diet, and out of the question for a sodium restricted diet!
