Care for oily hair is similar to dry hair: massage the scalp during shampooing to exfoliate, then work the shampoo through from root to tip to cleanse properly. Use shampoos for oily hair, containing amino acids and natural cleansing agents such as lemon juice. Try washing hair every other day or twice a week rather than daily to see if it reduces oiliness.
Conditioners add moisture to the hair, but since sebum (oil produced by the scalp and skin) is a natural moisturizer, its usage can even be eliminated.

Paul Mitchell's Tea Tree Shampoo is really good but if that is too expensive (runs around $9+) maybe try going to Sally's (sells generic versions of professional products).

Use a shampoo for oily hair, and when you use conditioner, concentrate on the ends and only "touch up" the hair near your scalp. Also, you can apply finishing powder (make up) to your roots, and it will take away the oiliness-just be careful not to use too much or it will look like you have dandruff.

Do you put your conditioner on the top of your head, close to your roots? If so, that's why your hair is so greasy. Putting conditioner there will only make your hair greasier. Try asking your stylist about a generic brand of shampoo that will help with the greasyness.

Is your hair fine? I ask because I have fine hair and it gets really greasy too. I use hair for fine hair or oily hair. I like Sunsilk (i am yellow), Dove, and several other brands. One of the things I was told is to not have conditioner on my hair that long and to not scrub it in my scalp like shampoo. It has helped, a lot.

Neutrogena has great shampoo but your hair is naturally oily and there's really nothing you can do except wash it often.

Hope this helps!
