A couple of tattoos is not a big deal. If you don't like them then don't get one. Why are you only asking this question for girls like it's more ok for guys to have tattoos.

A tattoo is an expression of the persons self and life. Not everyone HAS to have them. And I agree with alot of the women here...why is it not considered "ruining your skin" if a man does the same thing? Just as many men have tattoos as women do. I happen to have 4 and plan on getting many more. My husband finds them very attractive. He also has many tattoos as does half of my family. If you don't like tattoos then don't get one and stop being so judgmental of other people. Just because there are tattoos out there(on men and women alike) doesn't mean we are all bad people.
And to the one "quoting" the bible on tattoos...tattoo's came along way after the bible was written so stick it in your ***!

OK, might I first point out that your name is Mr Jiggle Pants.
Speaking as a woman with six tattoos, I can honestly and with much experience say that a tattoo is one of the best things that can be done to a woman's skin, considering stretch marks and scarring are the other options. Oh, and tanning. Tattoos don't give you skin cancer.
You can't call all tattoos ugly, because you haven't seen them all. They can be very tastefully done, and some represent very important events or people in the individual's life. You are not a judge of this, and who do you think you are telling someone that something important to them is ugly?

Don't like tattoos? Fine, don't get one. Don't like women with tattoos? Then don't date them. End of story.
Personally, I would not care it tattooing were manditory and everyone in the known universe was walking around with ink. Both of my tattoos are original designs and hold very deep personal meaning for me. They are a visual part of me, no more unusual than my hair color or the shape of my fingernails. The only difference is that I chose to put them there.
Besides, it take a real woman to be willing to go under the needle and take the pain of getting a tattoo. You can take your plastic beauty queens, but give me a woman (or man) with a well done tattoo and I just melt.

We do not ruin our skin by getting a tattoo, and some of us are being an individual. I agree that some girls and guys do just get a tat for fad, but believe it or not some of us are expressing ourselves. I have thought about what type of tat I want for at least 7 years now. I finally settled on something and I plan on drawing it. So, don't tell me that I am ruining my skin and that I am not being and indivudual. It isn't the fact that you have a tattoo that makes you an individual, it is the tattoo itself. If you don't like them, ignore 'em.

Sometimes getting a tattoo isn't about just being individual, but about doing something you like and find aesthetically pleasing. Many times a tattoo has meaning and significance to the person wearing it. Tattoos don't bother me personally, and you are entitled to your opinion. I will ask you something though; is it ruining a guy's skin in your opinion to get a tattoo as well? Again, it's your opinion, but it's kind of sexist to say that only women shouldn't have them.

For pretty much the same reason men get theirs.
Some see it as an expression of who they are and many enjoy the rush that comes with getting a tattoo.
I have 2, but keep them covered and they're in inconspicuous places. However, since I've started serving God I do keep them covered. I don't advocate tattoos because Leviticus 19:28 condemns them.
When I got mine I enjoyed the rush that came with the pain. When someone enters a tattoo parlor, there is feeling of being on a high. It's a feeling of power too, to have the pain and then overcome it. The tattoo is the end product of that triumph over pain. I had my tongue pierced and it was the same feeling.
The guy who did mine always had some heavy metal music playing and that just pumped you up even more. I also went in with a couple of people who got tattoos, so the music playing was common.
Just my experience. I wouldn't do it again and my children know how I feel about them now.

To be honest that would be like saying why do men ruin their skin with tattoos.
I got my tattoos cause I love the art not to be an individual, not to look like a bad chick, cool or whatever.

Well that's kind of closed minded and rude of you. I think that you're missing the point of tattoos. Yes, some people do get them for superficial reasons and to "look cool", but not all do. Kind of stereotyping don't you think?
Open your eyes a little....and if you don't want to date a guy/girl with a tattoo...then don't....that's up to you. Don't stereotype people and make assumptions as to their personalities and such just because they are different from you....very ignorant...

So, you don't think its "ugly" on a man? I don't see the problem with women having them, I have 2 and my wife has 2, I don't see it as ruining your skin.

you show me another person who has custom work that is identical to mine........you cant can you? see thats individual. and just cos u dont like them is ur problem. And im guessing you've never seen a piece done by an amazing artist that looks like its airbrushed onto the skin. Not all women want crappy black tribal and stars from the flash designs. i dont like close minded individuals but i answered ur dumb question.
