most farming in UK is about chemicals & funding feeding a corporate standardised mass production system.

Much agricultural land is not used to grow food for local people because subsidies & tarriffs of the global market distort the market. Subsidies like education/university research focussed on agro-chemicals not organic. Seed varieties are resticted to "patented" varieties. etc

farming is disconnected from the consumer, at the mercy of the supermarket, regulation/subsidy favouring big business, global trade deals ...

I think it is healthier to live in town these days.
