If I had a bowel movement with soft, somewhat fast moving stools, is this diarrhea if the bowels are still formed (just not ideally formed)? I have IBS and am worried that these daily movements are affecting my pill.

Before I found out I had celiac disease (gluten intolerance) I was having what I used to call 30-second-notice diarrhea. There were many times when I had to get to a bathroom NOW and never knew when that would be. All sorts of food intolerances can cause your body to have diarrhea. Do a food/symptoms journal and see if you can identify a pattern.
As far as your pill, if you have celiac, you're not absorbing nutrients through your intestines where most food is digested. I'm not sure if that's where medication is digesteed or not...?

No soft formed stools do not indicate diarrhea. Diarrhea is the loose runny BM where you often can't make it too the toilet in time and it gushes out and runs all over.

Yes, loose stools that move fast are just like diarrhea. Eat some rice or banana's to bulk it up. I find caffeine makes IBS worse so I would avoid it if I were you. Good luck and I hope you catch it before it gets too watery.

If it is formed - then I don't believe it is technically diarrhea. Diarrhea is usually frequent and watery/loose. If it is just daily as you say, then it should be fine!
I'm not sure what pill you're worried about - but going to the doctor could do a lot to set you at ease :-)

Diarrhea is watery stools and you go over and over and over and over again. Usually with force and sudden urge. One soft BM is not diarrhea. Don't obsess with IBS. If you get constipated, diarrhea and pain, cramping....then be concerned and talk to your doctor.

diarrhea is not called butt pee for no reason. any more liquid and I would say yes.
