im not a girl but
i think "wanting his attention" would mean she might have a bad boyfriend, and you give her the luxury she needs that he dosnt, which means your stuck in the friend zone
but liking him, is just that

Yes, there is. Some girls just want a guys attention to feel good about themselves. This is a common thing, even some women who are lesbians want every man in the room to turn their head and give them attention. This makes them feel attractive and worthy.
When you like a guy you want their attention AND you want to date them.
It might take practice to tell the difference. Some women, like some men just play games.

Girls have egos (just like guys) and want attention to feed thier ego (self-esteem). Why do you think there is a fashion industry - to get guys attention. But on a more intimate level wanting a guys attention means they are interested in you and want to see if you're a potential candidate for a future investment in thier time and emotion. yes, i think there is. some girls are married or have a boyfriend but still like attention from guys. they like to know that they are still desirable even if they aren't single. otherwise, if the girl is single and just looking for a guy's attention, she may not have yet decided if she actually "like" him completely.

It's possible to want a guys attention just for fun. The way girl get all dressed up if any guy will see them...but look all ulgy if it's all girls.

I guess attention and liking are same things but the degree or intensity is different. Liking is higher on the scale.
