I have way toooooooo many mood sings with my Bipolar and friends are geting tired and frusterated just as I am. I cant ask them to stay. I have to admit I am pretty high maintaince. It is especially hard for my AA sponsor, and now I am not going to be able to get the meds that I need ,which is going to make it alot worse. How will I ever get though this without drinking and going totally crazy?

I think this is your mood swing talking, try discussing with your friends what is going on with you...my dad & sister are both bipolar and ive done some educating for myself so i know how to understand and support them. Try seeking some professional assistance and being open with your sponsor so that others are aware of what you are feeling. Pessimistic talk will only get you in a negative place. You need to focus on the positives like the fact that your aren't drinking and are obviously able to function (even if its not at your personal best). You aren't crazy, you just need someone to talk to and remember your friends probably aren't as tired and frustrated as they are concerned & unsure of what you need. Good friends will do what they can to stand by you and if not understand fully at least try to work with you to make things a little brighter. Good Luck, your doing great!!

Sometimes I have found that people we thought of as friends do leave us when we have a depressed state of Bi-Polar disorder. I write them off as being uneducated. We that are Bi-Polar do make crazy decisions at times and can be hard to understand. If you continue drinking you will make your problems worse. Alcohol is a depressant and isn't a good mix with medications. You need to find some help with your medications because they will make your life better. I don't use alcohol but have in the past and realize it does make me more depressed. There is several programs out there to help you get your medications. I don't know what state you are in, but I do know your Dr's have information and will help you get the much needed medications.
Good Luck

I have lost many so called friends who have said "I dont' want to be around you when you are depressed" and then "I don't like it when you are manic..you talk too much"..well...for me there is no medium..it's up or down..even on meds. I have had one friend now for about 6 years but I have had so many "swings", he's just "there" and doesn't really care if I am up or down anymore..he's there sometime depending on how he feels. I have to tell you that as a former drug addict, alcohol will make your depression worse (especially coming down)..it did 4 me.. People are ignorant and don't want to understand bi-polar..they think it's something u did or can control..they don't realize it's like diabetes..a chemical issue. but u can't tell these ignorant people anything..it's the ones who know it all..who know NOTHING. ask ur md for free med samples ..drug companies give free meds too if you qualify based on income..If u can't afford meds..u can't afford the alcohol.

You know, I am going thru a manic mood swing with a bp and he actually sucks...for several years I did what I could for him and my daughter; he was of a different nationality and boy the line of bs he flung...what he has done does not add up to his age which leaves him at a lie...I suspect he divorced his first wife before he married the second but the marriage license says nothing about a divorce decree...he is a conartist and manipulator...then blames it on bp? He will not go on meds and he is destined to review his sucky life again...He had it so good with us to a point.

hi. I easily have studied Bi-Polar sickness. there are a approach of sites you may visit and some could have tests you may do. you've not given sufficient information to assert once you've mania, or 'highs.' oftentimes Bi-polar victims have extremes of their behaviors. They take negative aspects, they're many times promiscuous, etc....there are a approach of warning signs linked with this psychological ailment. you're experiencing PMT or anger subject matters. CBT, (cognitive habit treatment) can help take care of particular emotional behaviors and teach you to note of the indicators and triggers. drugs is a very last hotel, yet mood stabilizers etc artwork wonders for BPD. you want to ascertain a psychiatrist to be appropriately clinically determined. No-you may allow you to already know what's inaccurate by a short rationalization by you in an area like right here. it truly is an evaluation which takes hours of questions and call with you. merely see a GP first and they are going to refer you if mandatory. strong success.

Why aren't you going to be able to get your meds? If it's a financial problem (no insurance, for example) there is prescription assistance out there. A couple of websites you might find helpful are:
