Ok bud, let's put a little science behind this and help get you thru this crisis. You have to have some understanding of what booze does to you. 1. It will dehydrate you. Remember the night before you were pissing every ten minutes? That water has to be replaced somehow. Drink a few big glasses of water before going to bed. You also pee away alot of sodium and potassium. Sometimes Gatorade diluted 50/50 with water is better. 2 When the body breaks down booze the liver secretes an enzyme called acetylaldahase. It oxides the ethanol into......acetylaldahide......which then is broken down further into acetic acid. What does this mean? Not only are you losing fluid, but now your bodies pH is way off. As a protest the body will start secreting histamines as well, which are able to give you a killer headache. 3. The remedy..........believe it or not, but Alka Seltzer Cold Medicine, (the tablets you throw in water) work wonderfully for a severe hangover. The bicarb help restore pH, minerals and salts while the antihistamine shrinks those swollen blood vessels in your head, helping the aspirin to numb your pounding skull. DO NOT drink caffeine as this will further dehydrate you and make you feel even worse. The only way to avoid a hangover is not to drink, (which I can't bring myself to recommend). You can only treat the symptoms...........

The day before I drink I make sure I drink a lot of water. I don't mix my booze with sugar filled soda, only water. I nibble on a little something while I am drinking. Before I go to bed I eat three aspirin and drink a lot of water. Normally I don't get too bad of a hangover like this....

I drink a lot of water before and after drinking the alcohol.
I just saw on the news that they recommend eating greasy food before hand will help prevent a hangover, though I missed the science behind it. Have fun!

I usually find that drinking a pint of water halfway through the evening, and another at the end of the evening works for me ..... I'm fortunate that I never suffer hangovers - a little cottonwoolly in the morning but no headaches, nausea, vomitting or telling the cat to purr quietly!..... that or your just carry on drinking until you drink yourself sober .... it can be done!

Recognise that a hangover is part of the deal you sign yourself upto when you go out and get loaded.
So go and do it like is the last time, just take a hottie or two with you home so you've got some one to share it with and something to do in the morning to take your mind off said hangover.
Or at the very least, get you the tea in the morning...

Drink a lot of water before 'passing out' and take a few Motrin or Advil before bed as well. Also try not to mix your alcohols, stick with 1 theme, all rum, all vodka drinks, all beer, etc.
Cheers and have a happy New Year!

I take 2 aspirins with a couple glasses of water (depending on how much I drink) before I go to bed. Works good for me.
