That's what I've been told. But I think most drug testing now has been altered to the point that you would not get a "positive" result from a Poppy bagel. We can now tell the difference between a "street" drug and a "prescription" drug. We can also tell if the sample is "diluted" or has been carried in a container and is actuallly someone else's - temperature is wrong.

Poppy seeds contain morphine. If you eat poppy seeds, you will excrete morphine in your urine, which may result in a positive urine test for opiates. However, the morphine level in your urine after eating poppy seeds is very low — typically below the detection threshold for most drug screening tests — and the morphine is usually cleared from your body within four hours.
To avoid any problems, don't eat poppy seeds before a drug test. If you are required to provide a urine sample after recently eating poppy seeds, tell the person collecting the sample or the doctor overseeing the testing that you recently ate poppy seeds and to take that into account.
By the way, the amount of morphine in poppy seeds is extremely low, so they won't give you a morphine "high" — no matter how many you eat.

It is possible but you would have to eat like 30 of them right before your test. Even then the tests are much better than they were even two years ago and they should be able to tell the difference between the trace amounts of chemical that's found in poppyseeds and the larger amount that is in the pot you've been smoking

yes anything that has Poppyseeds or Seseme Seeds in it will mess up a drug test it will register as opium
Of the 90 or so species of poppy, one, Papaver somniferum, is commonly used for two things: drugs and food. In the U.S. possession of opium poppies with intent to grow more is a crime. But possession of opium poppy seed is perfectly legal--in fact, you can (or could) buy opium poppy seeds from gardening catalogs

I am sayin yeah.
Although the drug opium is produced by "milking" latex from the unripe fruits ("seed pods") rather than from the seeds, all parts of the plant can contain or carry the opium alkaloids, especially morphine and codeine. This means that eating foods (e.g., muffins) that contain poppy seeds can result in a false positive for opiates in a drug test.
This was considered "confirmed" by the presenters of the television programme MythBusters. One participant, Adam Savage, who ate an entire loaf of poppy seed cake tested positive for opiates just half an hour later. A second participant, Jamie Hyneman, who ate three poppy seed bagels, first tested positive two hours after eating. Both tested positive for the remainder of the day, but were clean 18 hours later.

Poppyseed bagels have no bearing on a drug test. They are checking for illegal drugs. I asked a nurse that same question and she told me that it has no bearing on the test.

mythbusters says: CONFIRMED
"We ate a normal amount of poppy seed products and the showed positive on the test for a fairly long period of time. Past studies have shown that false-positive tests are capable of showing up for 72 hours."

Only for heroin. Not for anything else. Heroin is made from opium poppies, so poppyseed bagels can give a false positive on some sensitive heroin tests.

Yeah they probably figure you a representative wholesaler from The Golden Triangle. Somebody in the DEA will probably feel you out for a price quote and put it under a retirement account under Aldrich Ames LTD.

Yes the chemicals in poppy seeds shoe up as cocaine in your system. And there is no way of telling the difference between the two.
