It's my senior year, halfway through basically, at the beginning of the year I was going to make new friends and I had a great opportunity but I was too shy and blew it. I'm ready to give up and let it go. I can't realistically make friends with the fact that I had pretty bad depression and social anxiety disorder. I really think I need to get that taken care of before I can make friends It's kind of a shame, but I really don't see it happening. It's gotten to a point where a lot of the time I don't even want to be around people. Let it go, right?

It's never too late to make friends. It may be difficult with the anxiety, but far from impossible. It isn't too late to join clubs either and they're a perfect way to find people with similar interests.
It may also help if you talk to a counselor or doctor about this problem. Withdrawing from others is fine once and a while, but unhealthy for prolonged periods.

Get a good therapist. No psychiatrist. They just try to pump you with meds. Go for a psychologist. It is really amazing how they tie up events from your past to explain current behavior. Being aware of how that connection exists will help you change for the better.

p.s. Exercise is great! It really helps get rid of anxiety (over an extended period of time, not just exercising one day)

You probably should get it taken care of first. You just get nervous around people. Its no big deal. I know what its like to hav depression. Just be yourself and get out there and do your thing. People are bound to like you.

take care of yourself first and the rest will follow with your healing....also - along with treating the depression and social anxiety disorder, you will help build your esteem back up.....best of luck....
