I think it is a great thing, but women have to be careful on who they pick to be surrogates. A lot of people are out there just for the money, and they aren't there to help the family trying to have a baby.

The safest thing to do if you are looking for a surrogate, is to ask someone you trust if they would be willing to help you. You would be surprised at how many friends or family members would be willing to help.

I think it is awesome that some women are able to help women who are unable to have children naturally, but I think the surrogate should have children and feel her family is complete. That way it might be easier to let the baby go. I also think if the other woman can use her own eggs and have them inplanted in the surrogate that is even better, because then it is there child biological a 100%. The surrogate just carries it for the couple, and the baby has none of the surrogates DNA. I also think this would make it easier on the surrogate. If you are a woman who thinks you could be a surrogate for a couple who can't have a child, you are truely a generous person. You would be giving someone the most precious and beautiful gift in the world. The gift of a baby to nuture and raise and love, and you would recieve the gift of knowing you have given them this gift. They would never forget you and would always think of you fondly. You will have changed the whole world for the better in every way possible. The parents are also able to go through the whole pregnancy with the baby and really get to bond with the baby and the surrogate, and the surrogate gets to know the parents and feel safe that the baby will go to a good and loving home. Which does not happen either way with adoption. The adoptive parents don't really know what happened during the pregnancy or after, babies placed as newborns usually don't go home right away due to paper work and red tape. They baby is still in the system for a few months. There is no way for adoptive parents to know everything that happened during this period, but can experience it all from moment one with a surrogate. You also have no way of knowing who is adopting your baby if you give it up for adoption, and some babies have been adopted into some awful circumstances, some have even been killed by abusive adoptive parents. Not what you are looking for when you give your baby up so that it may have a better life. You will know the parents for the entire pregnancy if you are a surrogate, and you can see what kind of people they are. You can always fight the parents if you see signs half way through that these are not good people, so there is a chance to protect the baby if need be. You don't get that chance with adoption. I think it can be a beautifull experince for all involved. So long as they all go into it knowing what is going to happen, and can deal with it.

I'm trying to think of the best way to answer this from my view. I guess I'm on the opposite side of everyone else. I believe children are the blessing and a gift from God. Look around you at the world today and open your eyes to the events unfolding and ask yourself if you really want to bring a child into the mayhem and immoral balance that is upon us. If a couple can't have children, does that mean they weren't meant to? Maybe so. I believe in a reason for everything happening. There are so many beautiful children waiting for a loving family thru adoption. I just don't care for the surrogate state.

As a Christian i will aid you be attentive to that i could lots extremely see a surrogate mom than an abortion. Being a surrogate is likely one in each and every of the main selfless and giving issues that one lady ought to do for yet another. i do no longer see how any Christian could have a issue with it. And Mary replaced into no longer a surrogate, she replaced into Jesus's mom and God replaced into his father. If she replaced into no longer his organic and organic mom, than who else in all possibility could have been. A surrogate contains a new child that's no longer hers biologically.

I'm a surrogate mother to a couple. They just found out (along with myself) that the transfer was a success. I'm so happy for them. Yes, it is a great thing to do. They were crying, they were so happy. Yes, in the end it is worth it to all. They compensate in terms of monetary funds, but to tell you the truth, you HAVE to love it . The lucrative benefits cannot be measured or compared. I'm happy and cannot wait to finally give them the child they want so much to love. Now I'm on Yahoo Answers looking for info on how to find the right OB/GYN and all the other great stuff! (I'm sooo looking forward to the 7 for all Mankind Maternity Jeans!)

i think that's the nicest thing any one could do for a someone else , its hard on woman not to be able to have a child of her own and if someone could help them to make there life happy .... not having child will consume a woman esp when she reaches a certain age and knows she can no longer get pregnant ..but for anyone who will be a surrogate mother fr someone else is a wonderful human being

I aggree completely with Surrogate mothers I don't think I would be able to carry a baby and give it up...that is why I donated my eggs....Helping people to have children who wouldn't be able to on there own is a beutiful thing....my fiance had one good comment...he didn't want to deal with my mood swings if he wasn't getting a son or daughter out of it!!! hehehe

I think that it would take a very special, very selfless woman to be able to do this. I don't think that I could go through all of that work and then have to turn around and hand the baby to someone else. But luckily there are women who are able to, and God bless them.

I think its good.

My friend is doing it, the baby is completly the other couples..their sprem and egg.
If thats what they want then by all means do it!
If you want to adpot then do that.

I kind of think having many mulitles is kind of questionable. Its hard to give 6 infants the attention they need, not to mention they have a very high risk of birth defects.

I could do it for the right price. If the sperm was someone else's and the egg did not belong to me then i would do it. I could give it up cause in no way would it belong to me.

I think it is alright when people do that. It is the same thing as adoption.
