Please people, do not have an animal unless you can afford to get it medical attention when needed.
You cannot fix a broken leg without it going and being treated by a vet- it's that simple.
Since you have an animal and it needs medical attention you must take it to the vet, otherwise you are breaking the law. It is considered abuse to not get medical care for your sick or injured animal. Take it to the vet and make payments, cut back on other expenses to get it paid for.
Your kitty is suffering and in a great deal of pain, imagine how you would feel if you had a broken leg and your mom or dad just let it go....
If for some reason you do not take it to the vet, then at least take it to the pound and release ownership so they can either fix it or humanely euthanise your kitty- at least then it won't be suffering. And in the future, don't own and animal if you can't afford medical care for it!!!

awww. poor kittie. you have to go to the vet for that. if it heals wrong the cat will not be able to walk properly or at all ever again and thats really mean. the vet is really expensive though. i had to pay $1200 to fix my cats broken leg. i had no money either, but i applied for something called carecredit where you have a year to pay the bill, maybe look into something like that. you have the option to get the leg amputated which is way less expensive and still humaine. cats can still live a normal life with only 3 legs. call your vet and discuss it. they might have a payment plan you can do. good luck

Take it to the vet , never try to fix any animals . Tell the vet you have no money . I bet the vet will talk about how you can pay the bill. And if you dont have any money to take care of a cat , you shouldn't have one. I dont mean to be rude, but owning a pet is a big responeablity.

ok, first of all, dont listen to the **** that tell u to glue it or cook it, those ppl deserve that.

now, u should try to call the animal protection or something like that and present ur case, if the leg is broken and is not fixed ur cat is not gonna have a life, and maybe die as well,
How that happend? fell? hit by a car? cause it might have some other injuries besides the leg.

theres is no way to fix it yourself without Rx and the proper Cast,

MAYBE, just MAYBE if u call a College or something like that where u can find a last year vet student, or teacher they can help. im not sure, but u should try all

Call the vet first, let them know your situation. Many will do this for no fee if need be. You could also call the local shelter, and they may be able to help you pay. Do not attempt this on your own. It's more cruel and may end up hurting the cat more than needed. I do have to add, if you don't have the money to take care of a cat properly (which means seeing a vet in this instance) than perhaps you should give that cat up to the shelter.

Well call the vet, and explain that you don't have the money and maybe they could fix the leg. If any of my cats broke their legs i'd be balling. So i would ask the vet for help. P.S. But call first, don't just go their because they might say no.
Wish u luck!

You would not be able to fix the broken leg yourself, it needs to be xrayed to see where the break is and then either pinned or splinted in the correct way. This needs to be done by a vet, if you are in the UK then there are several organisations around that will help you free or a small donation.

Please ring your vet and ask for advice I am sure they will try all they can to help you.

It would be cruel to leave it or try to fix it yourself, you will end up doing more damage than good.

Hi there!

First off---you need to take your cat to a professional, don't attempt to set it or bandage it yourself. If you can't afford to go to the vet, go to your local ASPCA or Animal Shelter/Humane Society. These places run on donations and are non-profit organizations. Most likely they will help you out as far as getting the leg set and splinted. If that doesn't work, you'll need to either borrow money from a friend or family member or use a credit card and pay it back later. A broken leg in an animal can become very serious and life threatening if not treated immediately and professionally. Please take your kitty to the vet or non-profit animal organization ASAP!!

I would say NO. I'm not a vet and therefore wouldn't feel comfortable giving you advice about something so serious. My sister (13), an animal lover, says to splint it. BUT BUT BUT, if the leg isn't X-rayed, the break diagnosed, and set properly you could make the situation A LOT WORSE!!! Find a vet that will work with you as far as the payment is concerned and get that kitty checked out MAN!!!!

I know money it tight this time of year for all of us, but you must take the poor little thing to the vet. The cat is probably in pain and the bone will need to be re set properly. Try calling the RSPCA and they may be able to help you. You may be better off considering taking out pet insurance so you can avoid future large vet bills.
