Delete them!
When you look back to the past, things will always appear better than they actually were at the time. Don't dwell on the past. Move on!

He doesn't know what he wants, but wants keep you for back-up while he makes his mind up! He's not putting you first and respecting your feelings, which are two of the most important things for a loving relationship. He may love you but it's all about how he feels, and you deserve someone who will think of you. Delete his texts, keep out of his way for a bit and get on with your life. If he decides he wants to come back, he's got a lot of apologising to do.

Typically, you wouldn't be pushed away if you were truly cared about. Sorry to say but it does sound like in his distance he is checking out other options. I certainly cant tell you what to do but, I would definitely erase the texts, at least as a precaution(you get extra points for deleting his digits) Try to keep him out of your mind and if he comes back, you can decide if you want to give it one last chance. Just don't be surprised if he needs another "break" as soon as a cute girl walks by.

It doesn't sound like he knows what he wants. He's been unfair to you, being clingy then arguing with you, and you don't deserve to be treated like that. Going back to him won't change things, he'll just do the same things all over again. These things happen. Delete the messages and find someone who deserves you.

Want to know how to get your ex back? Change yourself. Don't worry about changing other people, worry about changing yourself. Go to https://tr.im/ZRaF1
Once you do that then you can start to worry about getting back together with your ex, other wise you will find that you are fighting about all the same things and getting no where. Do what it takes and I promise things will work out in your favor.
The funny thing is I came to the realization that I had to change a little too late. After I was kicked out and after I was about to lose the only things that truly mattered to me - her love. A funny thing happens when we truly love someone and lose them. We do what ever it takes to get them back. For me I had to drop bad habits that had caused not only our relationship to sour but practically every other relationship I had had in the past. Not only with women, but with friends, co-workers, family, you name it.
Which is why I say to you as my ex at the time said to me, the only thing you can do is change yourself. Work on yourself and improve on the person that you already are. Drop the negative things in your life that don't belong there and you will see all of your relationships start to take off to new heights.

He has this yo-yo personality that survive on first bring you closer to them and then test your love by trying to repulse you and perhaps again try to win you back. If you don't want to be manipulated or abused emotionally, cut all communication with him and yes, delete his texts too. Some of their sentences can be very romantic and mentally manipulative. Don't fall for them.
