Go to your local animal shelters and humane society and look at what dogs they have for adoptions. Also, I adopted my dog, a maltese, after seeing her on petfinder.org she was at a foster home through a rescue group.

Check your nearby shelters, or a tradewinds in your area for breeders. If you get a dog from a breeder make sure you get papers and see the living conditions to make sure its not a puppy farm.
