I met a guy online a while ago and we had exchanged phone numbers and we were good friends. After a while we met and he turned out to be a total moran - he was asking me out and when I refused to go out - he started harassing me - telling me that he would show up at my home & at my college. I totally stopped talking to him and after a year later he has started calling me on my home phone(I live with my parents). I dont want to involve my parents in this since I am old enough to handle this. What should I do about it? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Have you explicitly told him you are not interested? If not, you need to do that, pronto!

First , you should talk to him calmly and tell him to stop harassing you. You have to make it clear that you are not interested in going out with him and that if he keeps bothering you, you will call the police.
Just be careful though because this guy seems really weird to still bother you a year later. I guess regardless if he stops or not, you should change your phone number and make sure it is not listed in the white pages.

First off, do not confront him, he sounds obsessed and deranged, he could do anything to you, if he finds you alone. Second, you must inform your parents, this is a bigger issue than you realize. They ought to know you need to be protected from this stalker. Finally if he continues to harass you, you must go to the police and get a judge to issue a restraining order. Be safe and be well.

I agree, you need to tell him, but it's how you tell him that matters. Don't make him mad, or upset by it. Be nice, listen to his feelings, and tell him yours. Make it clear that you respect him and his feelings and he should respect yours enough to give you space. Make it clear that him calling you threatens you, and it would be unhealthy for you to date him just so you stop feeling threatened. If it persists call his friends or family and ask them to help you get it to stop, or talk to you family about it and let them know you're going to ignore the calls. If he comes over, then you can let him know legal action will be required.

I would nip it in the bud before it escalates. Why would you want to keep it a secret from your parents? Don't. If things get worse you'll need their help.

maybe you should try telling him face-to-face...if that don't work & if he still doesn't leave you alone contact an officer or lawyer to press charges if he doesn't leave...you're gonna have to tell your parents if you wanna get out of this mess...sorry.

Hope i helped and i wish you a good luck!
