I'm getting married in March & for the reception we have labels with our names & date for mini chocolate bars. I'm trying to get ahead so I was wondering how far in advance I can buy those & put the wrappers on? I'm going to have a million other things to do a few weeks ahead of time (of course), so if this is something I could do in the next couple weeks & just store them I'd like to. I'd love some insight though, it'd be pointless to do it now & end up with icky chocolate in March though.

As long as you store them in a cool and dry place you will be fine. Keep them in the original bag and put them in a tightly seal container as well. If you do this in the next few weeks, there is nothing to worry about, March is just around the corner. Congrats!

Store them no more than a couple of weeks in a cool, dark cupboard.

Otherwise, they will begin to take on a whitish color about the edges.
They look sick -- I've eaten these and the taste change is not real perceptible -- melted in a cookie, cake -- you'd never know.

However, you will not be hiding them in baked goods.

You will use yours as a visual presentation, on a will-be memorable day.
Don't cut corners here.
Buy as near to the date as possible --- no longer out than 2 weeks.

I would get them no less than a couple weeks in advance. Chocolate will turn white as it ages and it doesn't take long.

fridge would be a great place. will keep them from melting certainly. i have kept chocolate in the freezer up to a year, but since you are only trying to wait a few months i would not freeze them, it can alter the color and etc. to much.
