You are an acquaintance, not a friend. Only my friends have my email.

I am mildly displeased with people who don't accept e-mail. I do, and have not received much in the way of spam as a result. But I am highly displeased with the notion that Yahoo must have a "verified" e-mail address in order to accept e-mail, even if the recipient has explicitly specified that receiving e-mail is desired: this makes absolutely no sense to me, and I wish that Yahoo would drop this requirement. Many of us have learned by roundabout means that e-mail intended for us had not been sent because of this silly requirement, and then had to fuss with the accounting to fix it.

Wouldn't it be nice if everyone activated their e-mail? I've made friends from "the other side of the fence"

Nice? I think it should be required. There are a few people that I would like to converse with do not have email.
I wouldn't say I have made friends, but there are a few more people on my contact list now than there was before Y!A.

It may be that they have received a lot of nasty emails, so they deactivated them.
I received emails from someone who strongly opposed my beliefs - and used insulting language - I answered him quite seriously, and nicely, not paying attention to his language, 3 or 4 times, but he got more and more insulting, so I just stopped responding. But some people may go further and start really harassing. It hasn't happened to me, but I could certainly understand the situation.

they deactivate their mails because they are opinionated people. it normally goes hand in hand because of their character and understanding of the virtual world. only a handful are able to balance their 'fun' side and their depthness.
opinionated people see the truth (but not all the time).. and truth is always bitter.. having a bitter understanding gives them this certain taste of/in/about life and hence they tend to be hushed, private, untouchable, have deactivated emails and so on.

Personally, I think anybody who doesn't have their e-mail activated is missing out on half of what makes Answers so great!

i agree. very annoying.
especially when you write out an email to them click send and it says "sorry the message did not go through, recipients emai lhas not be verified"
grrrr verify your emails you guys how hard is it.
i think the ones that just plain out dont have their email addy available, and are highly opinionated, are the ones that dont like to be told they are wrong, so to keep from getting emails about how they are wrong they close it off. this way they always get the last word *shrug*

oh lord, i know what you mean!
i have met so many people from different parts of the world but most of them actually had their email blocked off.
so what i did was i put in one of my answers that i wanted to contact them but couldnt.
so then the emailed me their adress.
most people are just trying to be safe.
if you connected with them and wanted to become closer, i am sure they will end up giving you a b etter way to contact them

Mine is activated. I think it is annoying when people don't activate theirs. It does allow you a better opportunity to find common ground.
