How do I get my teenage miniature dachshund to stop chewing up every new pair of headphones I buy? (I had some biter apple long ago for my other dogs but incase I cannot find it, is there something I can use around the house such as the juice from jalapeno's) Feel free to give me any method you can offer or any methods on teaching the dog to stop as well?

Well heres some advice man. Dogs like to chew things, I suggest you take him to obedience school or some type of trainer, either that or get him some rubbery substances similar to your headphones (Basically a decoy, mate.) If he still seems to find your headphones... I suggest you get a repellent, similar to a air refreshener so that when he goes near it, the stench is so strong hes not compelled to do it anymore, then when you come home take the air refreshener away and voila! The stench is gone. Hope it helps!

he is quite old to be having this type of behavior problem...and the bitter apple should be working...but you can't just spray it on there and leave it...it must be sprayed every couple of days / once a week to keep the taste there. Also, try getting him other things to chew on...most puppies chew on stuff because they are teething (not your dogs issue) or they are just plain bored!

put a spray bottle in every room. every time he/she chews on then spray the dog with a little water in the face but not tooo much just a lil bit. and you may want to consider buying it a play mate , too.

give him more attention, more chew toys and take him out and walk him, tire him out so he's not bored and won't wanna chew everything,
