Well I am not a Christian but I will take a shot at an answer (pun intended)
No one knows how either one works or where their power comes from.
And according to their bible both can smite you.
Of course an Atheist would say that they are both products of fiction.

They can both "stun"
Phasers can be set to stun level - and God can stun chicks and bang them in thier sleep. He boned Mary while she was stunned. I need to buy a stun gun and take it out to bars.
