that he put a parking ticket on the first police car. He laughed and refused to do it. Can I have these police, and everyone within their chain of command up to the police chief, jailed for misconduct in office? If so, how much jail time should they get?

Well, there are some problems in your scenario. First, how do you know the car was illegally parked? If the officer was responding to an emergency, he was not prohibited from parking where he needed to. Many, probably most, jurisdictions exempt police officers from putting money in coin meters.

Second, in most places traffic tickets are issued by traffic enforcement officers. Regular police officers do not carry parking tickets with them, and could not issue a parking ticket if they wanted to.

Third, nobody should or will go to jail for illegal parking.

That said, I agree that it is frustrating to see police officers flaunting the law. I work in Downtown Los Angeles, and police officers regularly park illegally around the court house--in red zones, and bus zones, etc. They have been told for years that it is illegal, they have been told that they will face disciplinary action if the continue to do it. It has even been the subject of two reports in the Los Angeles Times. But they continue to do it, the traffic enforcement officers ignore it, and nothing is done.

So, I share your frustration, but I am afraid you will share my inability to do anything about it.

Are you kidding? Put the police in jail because a cop parked illegally. They are allowed to do that if they need to be somewhere on police business. They don't make a habit out of it and if you say they DO, then you have WAY too much time on your hands and you need to get a life. You sound very bitter toward the police. I bet you have been in trouble with the law a few times.....I'm right, aren't I? Otherwise, you wouldn't be so against them. One day you will need the police and you won't care of they park on your front step as long as they help you.

Just because of an illegally parked car? It could be the driver of that car was responding to an emergency and did not have time to turn the lights on. Quit with the police bashing. I bet you have a ticket for illegal parking.

The bigger question is, Do I want more trouble than Donald Trump with the I.R.S.? If you want to push an issue, another question is, HOW MUCH CAN YOU AFFORD?. You have evidently never delt with Law Enforcement or City Government or you'd akready know, YOUR BARKING UP THE WRONG TREE!
Got a clean record?, Want to keep it that way? It's sad but, TRUE
What's that old perverbial saying?, LEAVE SLEEPING DOGS LAY or RISK THE CONSEQUENCES!!!!! While I'm not trying to be assineign, I have extensive knowledge of how corrupt Law Enforcement can be and the records manipulated so you look like an @** But GOD gave us choice, Didn't He? GOD BLESS/GOOD LUCK!!!!!

Congratulations on the size of your testicles! Police cars can park where they want when they are on duty. If they are off duty, they are to follow the rules like everyone else. However, you know better than to think anything will come of this. Police have a hard job, and make very little money. Give them a break. Sounds like you've had trouble with the police....sour grapes.

They would've done it but they were busy catching the rapists and robbers that you complained they weren't catching last week. He was parked illegally while taking one into custody. You've got to make up your mind which one you want them to do. Do you not have anything better to do with your time? I will admit, you are a gutsy one. Most people wouldn't have done that.

That's a little much don't ya think? I wouldn't even complain because he could have been parked that way because of an emergency and didn't turn on his lights because he was in a rush. As long as he wasn't illegally parked outside a Dunkin Donuts...

Who said he has to have his lights flashing? If he was there to sneak up on a bad guy, he wouldn't be very sneaky with his lights on would he? You should complain as many times as you've thanked them for doing something right..oh, don't want to put the effort into that huh? You should seriously get over yourself!

I saw an extremely stupid question (with no purpose) on yahoo answers. I wrote a response and demanded that stupid people stay off yahoo answers for their safety, and the safety of the public.

There is no such thing as an illegally parked emergency vehicle. How do you know the cop wasn't there doing something in the line of duty? Get over it and go back to playing in your sandbox. Moron.
