Check out Advanced Technology they make all kinds of shotgun conversion kits. you can get to them through www.centerfiresystems.com

That is kit only.
For the whole gun around $250 new
Used you could buy a kit and a gun, do-it-yourself and convert it.
Good luck!

Unlike the bad information jessann gave you, I will give you better information.

The 500 will run you between $200 and $300 just like what's his name said. That's from used to new. You can sometimes find them cheaper....last three Mossy's I bought, I payed $100 each for. You can often find them for more....though why you would choose to pay more when you can have them for less is beyond me.

Try gunbroker.com like what's her name said.

In response to Ty M....Walmart's cheapest Mossberg runs $250 on sale, exactly like the first responder said. Where you get your info, I'd love to know. There also is no such thing as a "home defense model". A factory pistol grip costs $12-15, not $50.

In response to MRS....

I don't defend my posts. They stand on thier own merits. I simply point out flaws in idiot's postings.

Mossberg doesn't MAKE a "home defence" shotgun. Walmart cannot therefor SELL a Mossberg "home defence" shotgun. The site you cited is from Russia....notice that "defense" is even misspelled. The pic described on that site is nothing more than a standard 500E with a pistol grip forend....and even though a lot of folks do refer to front pistol-gripped guns as great home defense weapons, it is NOT a purpose designed home defense weapon. It is nothing more than a 500E with a front pistol grip added. Furthermore, the basic 500E goes $250 brand new and on sale at Walmart....they are the same price as other Mossberg shotguns, you don't get a discount for the gauge....what, praytell, drops the price by $150 for simply changing the $15 front grip?

As to Mossbergs being worthless yadda yadda yadda and all that other ****.... I'll point out once more, just for the idiots present, of course, that Mossberg is STILL the only shotgun to ever pass the military blah blah blah ad nauseum. Tears you up, dont it, bud? You don't see many Remingtons being issued to the troops. Why do you reckon that is?

As to your other spewage about pistol grips costing up to $100....I'm laughing. Single rail? So the last Mossberg you held was thirty years ago, huh? ROFLMAO!!!

What sorta loads are you using that you get so much energy out of your claimed .700NE? Grains of lead? Velocity?

And incidentally, the BATF lists the five most powerful rifles as

#1 .50 BMG @13,000 foot-pounds.
#2 .577 Tyrannosaur @ 9,900 foot-pounds.
#3 .475 A&M Magnum @ 9,200 foot-pounds.
#4 .700 Nitro Express @ 9,000 foot-pounds.
#5 .585 Nyati @ 8,500 foot-pounds.

Seems you're even wrong on that. Sorry, bud.

Completely depends on which model your looking at. I buy them brand new at a gun show for $179.99 500 12ga models with pistol grip rear. I keep them because every week someone wants a cheap home gun so they can feel safe and not spend their paycheck. My opinion is they are boat anchors, worth nothing at all.

randkl has a bad habbit of editing his post to challenge what others say. I cant imagine why someone would feel the need to defend their answer. Frankly I think its childish, but you make the call.

Walmart does in fact sell a Mossberg 500 "Home Defence" model shotgun. Although it may not be avalible at every Walmart it is there. It runs around $150.00 reg price and does once in a blue moon go on sale for $99.99. The problem with this is all I have ever seen go on sale is the .410 model shown here. Im not sure if they make a 20 or 12 ga model like this ?!?!

http://world.guns.ru/shotgun/sh03-e.htm

As you can see it does exsist. Ask Walmart to show you the book. I figure if one sells it they all do. The pistol grip is a stock not a butt. Depending on which one you want, you could convert just like TY M said to this pistol stock for about $50-100.00. The rear type pistol grip butt, will run anywhere from $20-100.00 depending on who makes it and how fancy you want to get.

Keep in mind Mossberg is a cheap gun, single rail and set for issues. We fire 1000 plus shells a week in the field and I have never seen a Mossberg last. Unless your looking to rob a 7-11, spend the extra money and get a 870 express from Remington. They make the same type models but the gun is 10 fold what a Mossberg is.

Various Priced Pistol Grip Stocks for the Mossberg Line:

http://www.atigunstocks.com/product-mossberg.html
http://www.gunaccessories.com/ShotgunStocks/index.asp

The second link if you scroll down you will see the stocks from 20-100 dollars and even more just as I said. It depends on how fancy you want to go.

The link I gave was a quick pic for you to see it was made. Went to walmart tonight just for you. Its called a 410HS, HS is Home Security. Pardon us for saying home defence. Right now its not on sale. You can get it for $ 158.88. Checked the books, and yep its there.

Yes i did say single rail ? are you confused ? do you even know what a rail is ? let me guess, your thinking the slide bars ? I guess this is where I laugh back at ya ! Do some reading, come back when you know what a shotgun rail is, now on to the rest.

Mossberg claims ? Yes thats right its true they did win the contract for US military supply. That means ? nothing, no other strong Shotgun maker submitted their firearms. Sad thing is the real reason they are used for the military is the price, just like everything else in this world. BTW Mossberg had to completely redesign the 500 to get it to pass military inspection. Dont be fooled into thinking its the norm 500. The 870 has already passed that very same inspection and test with the law enforcement. Guess what, no mods needed. Give it a rest, no one can set and argue that the Mossberg is a better gun than the 870. Besides, I gave him my opinion and it required no comments from you !

As far as my rifle, Its custom loaded from a local guy. He kept my rifle for 6 months to tune it. Im afraid that anymore would rupture the case, or blow the primer. The point is you atacked something in another thread not knowing wtf your talking about. The 50 cant be modified or amped to produce those numbers. BATF knows one thing. Thats the ballistics and energy reported by the manufacture. Dont you know you can push things behond what factory specs are ? They dont report them why ? Because its not offical and will never be produced for market.

Now, this is no doubt the last time I will lower myself to your slandering and trash talk on an answer forum. These people ask questions because they want answers, not people throwing back and forth about opinions and facts. Answer the question the best you can, and I and everyone else will do the same. Thats what this site is about. I have no doubt you will edit your post once again to try and show your smarter than the others here, I provided all the info you need to agree with the facts, not the opinions, they will still be said and theres nothing you can do to stop it. My opinion is Mossbergs are trash and that is the same opinon as most of the gun owning world.

If you have anything at all to say it should be "your right about the HS410, Mossberg does make it." or " Your right to voice your opinion as to Mossbergs quality" or how about this. " You are correct about the .700NE and Im sry for making a post to try and stray something I only know about via the internet" but I expect none of those !

Good Day Sir!
Happy Shooting

Since your asking about mossberg. you can get a model 500 home defense model for under $150. Sometimes Walmart has them on sale for $99.99 and an after market pistol grip stock shouldnt cost you more than $50. Hopefully this helps....

Unlike the bad information boker gave you, I will give you better information.

The cost will vary depending on model, condition (if used), gauge, etc. Go to gunbroker.com, and auctionarms.com and check into what they are selling for on there. They do offer new guns there too.

You can also go to gun shows. They too have new guns for sale. As a last resort, go to some gun shops. They will more than likely be higher than the other places that I have listed. Do your homework and see what certain guns are selling for and take that information with you when you go to purchase.
