well, could be your name. Or could be that christians when confronted with undeniable truth tend to act like they are in Monty Pythons the holy grail......run away..run away...

I would have answered your question had I seen it! It is an excellent question!
"Vengeance" is a difficult word no matter who utters it. It is highly dramatic and provocative. That being the case, it's use in the bible has a very specific meaning. We, as the subjects of god, must not take revenge into our own hands. That prerogative is the sole purview of this higher power. But, knowing that, what does this say about the higher power itself? Is that being vengeful?
If you take the stories in the bible as literal, you must walk away believing that this higher being is vengeful. Ready to take violent action against anyone or anything that goes against this being's rules and regulations. It is the carrot and the stick approach to spirituality. One that I personally reject.

Because you don't really want an answer. You only wish to stir the pot and trouble people of faith.
Even us "ignert" Christians can recognize a troll question when we see it.
But, just so you can get some satisfaction regarding your previous question, God is a God of Justice and Love. Those who do not receive His pardon are only faced with His Justice. And those who face His Justice receive His Vengeance. Either in this life, or the one to come.
He would rather pardon you, and have you join Him. But He won't force Himself on you. You must choose to bow the knee, and bend the neck to His will to receive that.

i dont agree with that, its just that less people know the answers to more complex questions..tho i'll happily take a whizz at just about anything and in fact would prefer to tackle a question no1 else has answered.
with regard to the question you linked too, i can't answer it because i am not religious and dont know an awful lot about the bible at all, let alone the specific detail required to give a meaningful answer :)

Why would you expect an honest answer on a site dominated by religious cooks.
They believe they have an exclusive right to discuss all maters concerning the origin of life and the existing scheme of things in the universe.

It wasn't a bad question like so many of the members here just trying to be funny and making themselves out to be fools. But it wasn't all the tough.... Jim

could be that there needs to be some research and thinking done on an answer. posted a question in another category and there was at least one answer who didn't know what I was referring to until others started answering.

I don't consider that question "tough". I don't believe in a creator god so I wouldn't answer it from a position that supports any proselytizing and if I responded to it according to my beliefs... hain't nobody gonna like the answer. I think the "tough" questions in life are the ones like "prove there's/there's not a god" and so forth, and are more debatable. *shrug*

Perhaps because the 'commentary' indicates a 'one way' of thinking about things. Is one searching for the truth,or edicting self's way of looking at a situation?

If God directed it (as in some places in the Old Testament) that that was God's vengeance carried out at His order.
Any other time it is man's vengeance and that is a sin.

What's so though about that one!
Try asking where all the FREE ELECTRONS, HYDROGEN and MASS in the Universe came from.
Now that's a tough question.
